Hostal Lausanne

This hostal was basic, clean, and central. The bed was comfortable, the hot water in the shower was good, the towels were fluffy and replaced fresh each day, and the front desk staff were really welcoming. Despite being really central it was quiet enough for sleep, although we could hear a snorer from another room. When we first arrived and pushed the intercom button it took a couple of goes to work out that the door that opened was set into the big door but that was a minor problem! Having a lift to go up to the first floor with luggage was great. Basic means no hair dryer, no chair, no wardrobe, no iron, no fridge, etc - it really is a bed, bedside tables and a small drawer unit with a blanket stored, but as a safe clean place to sleep it worked. We liked having reception there 24 hours, and leaving our key with them for safety. The staff were delightfully friendly.
