Thank you for the way we were received at reception. We got lost on our way there and we were so flustered by the time we got there but they made us feel at home. We had also booked a Spa treatment with Joice. It was amazing. Can she not be given an operating place in the premises? She is a people's person. We were in K9. We were so relaxed that we forgot one of our bags in the room. Hopefully we will be able to get it back.

Very scenic setting with lots of wildlife about. Excellent facilities including a very good restaurant and lots of other activities for adults and kids. Interesting game drives available with lots of antelope including giraffe seen. Large pool in a lovely location. Units neat, comfortable and well equipped 

The property is absolutely marvelous, has welcoming staff and is very safe. I and my family felt reassured about the safety of our personal belongings. The room were impeccably clean and the service prompt. I would definitely recommend Waterberg Game Park to anyone wanting to get some serenity and revive themselves from the city life.

I had no idea of what to expect however was pleasantly surprised. The chalets were clean, well situated and maintained and very comfortable. The joy of having the buck and warthogs coming close to the chalets was wonderful. The staff are friendly, from the moment you arrive and very helpful. Going to the recreational area to have a drink at the bar is enjoyable. We did not try the restaurant as we opted for self catering. I will definitely consider going back. All in all a wonderful and peaceful weekend break!

Revamped and beautiful had a great time... love it

This was just so up our alley. To get away from all the city hustle. The accommodation was perfect and there were some buck and warthog roaming between the chalets. BUT the monkeys are the ones to watch out for. There are lovely hiking trails and you can book game drives.you can do an early drive with breakfast. You do have a lot of opportunities. BUT we had loads of rain, that was absolutely gorgeous as it was very dry and hot when we arrived. We had a lovely veranda and a braai (barbeque) under roof. It was just so tranquil and relaxed. We left after a weekend which felt like we stayed there for a week. The chalets were cleaned on a daily basis, which was really like being spoilt rotten. I will return any day and for a much longer time. What a weekend, way too short! I LOVED EVERY MOMENT! 

We were there for the weekend of 24 May to 27 May 2019 and we were very surprised with all the changes that took place since we last visited this resort. In the first place there are a lot of tame bush buck roaming around in the resort. They even eat out of your hand! The play park for children has been upgraded and the children (and some adults!) enjoy it. Our main attraction however was the number of hiking trails in the game park and this time of the year you could hike them any time of the day because it is not so hot during the day. To walk in the Bush Veld is a very special privilege for us. We also went on a game  drive which we thoroughly enjoyed. The guide showed us a baby giraffe that was born on 8 May, on election day, and he was summary named Ramaphosa! Needless to say, the weekend was hopelessly too short!

A well maintained and pleasant resort in the heart of the Bushveld. The horrible last 15km dirt road reminds you that you are in the stix and a quiet peaceful experience awaits you. Emergency electricity backup ensured load shedding frustration avoidance. Restaurant menus very limited but satisfactory but if you go the self catering way make sure you take everything with you because the Convenience store is a no namer. Had a refurbished unit and thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights stay.

In The Stix

2 night stay, midweek.
Sand road for approx 14 km was terrible. Moved at a snails pace to avoid vehicle damage.
Check in was effortless and all was ready on our arrival. Unit was clean and well equipped. Door lock was inefficiënt and a bolt lock on the inside of both exterior doors will be comforting (like in a hotel) to stop unwanted entry. Great to have experienced no load-shedding due to the generators kicking in. All access pass does not include the putt putt golf ball - which is silly as the kids had to run up and down due to us not being informed when getting the pass. Convenience store on site is very expensive - 4kg charcoal R75, Doritos chips R35!. Bread only on certain days…  We had the breakfast included package, only 3 dishes are available on this option. But we did get 4 vouchers as it was a 4 sleeper and could use the extra vouchers to add to our breakfast (we weren’t 4 )!’. Separation walls between units are thin so no peace and quiet as the television and general conversation could be heard from the neighbours. We also had a couple doing business (loudly on speaker phone) at breakfast in the restaurant as the laptop and connection points are situated there. Please be considerate to people around you in this resort as  it is so peaceful that sound travels loudly. Will keep this spot in mind on my next bush break,  will just have to get a 4x4 for the sand road..

Quiet, relaxing

This is a well maintained, clean resort about a 40 minute drive north of Vaalwater. The restaurant has a limited menu although the food is good (see photo). 
I would strongly advise that you take food to self cater and especially for the Braai.
The game park itself is very small and a game drive lasts only about one and a half hours, though the guides are very informative. We saw Sable, Eland, Wildebeest, Impala, Warthog, Bushbuck and a beautiful spider.
The warthogs and Bushbucks wander around the actual resort right up to your patio.
There is a good play area for kids and the resort is ideal for families with canoeing, fishing, miniature golf and a multi sport court for tennis, basketball etc. All of these facilities can be accessed by puchasing a pass for 100 ZAR ( about £5 ).
The lodges are very modern and spacious, with well equipped kitchens. The Braai is cleaned daily by ground staff at no extra charge.
This resort really is a pleasure .

A lovely resort in the bush

We’ve just returned from a relaxing trip and enjoyed ourselves, we arrived a day late because of personal reasons and we were checked in quickly by the friendly staff.
The chalet was clean, modern and well appointed “K3 “which is quite far from the restaurant but fairly close to reception which is one of two places to get cell signal.
We did a hike which was challenging but scenic and worth doing.
We went on a game drive which we enjoyed.
We ate at the restaurant twice and the menu was limited but the food and service was good.
There is a limited kiosk there but very expensive so best to take all your groceries with you as the closest town Vaal water is about 30km away.
We enjoyed our stay and can recommend this resort.

Nice bush break

This resort is set in a beautiful area. The drive itself from Johannesburg allows one to game spot from Bela Bela to Vaalwater.  We spied ostrich, buck, giraffe and a rhino behind the fencing at the various game lodges en route. From Vaalwater one meanders along a lovely stretch of countryside where the bird life is prolific and the trees grow big and tall. The chalets are spacious and decorated in an attractive fashion. The kitchen is a little sparse in equipment - we had 3 pots and no pan. And the 10 sleeping pillows in the unit were in serious need of a wash or a replacement.  We covered them with the duvet in order to avoid the human smell of them. The bird life is astounding and the resort has water features around the gardens with inviting benches to indulge some twitching. Pathways circulate through the massive grounds in a forest of trees many conveniently labelled for those of us interested in identifying them. 
We enjoyed our week away. A calm, green destination although the dams are empty.
