Pestana Golfe Resort

Was looking for a villa with private pool in the Algarve that did not cost a fortune for a couple of nights in late June. My opinion was - and still is - that resorts are better equipped to disinfect and cleanse than private rentals, so this seemed a great option. To my surprise the villa was not only dirty, it seemed abandoned, the patio chairs and tables were filthy. That was quickly solved and we were upgraded to a better and much cleaner villa in no time. Had a great time there, but was not impressed with Pestana, this cannot happen during a pandemic. The villa itself was nice, a bit outdated but the garden and the pool were fabulous. Very nice resort to stroll around even if you are not a golfer, and a 5 minutes drive to Carvoeiro.
