Chalets Eko Katun Štavna

Stayed for 2 nights as a part of our hiking vacation throughout Montenegro. We walked from Andrijevica to Stavna, a solid 14km, but a great walk with different sorts of views and landscapes as you walk up to Stavna meadow. We were welcomed by a most friendly host, ever smiling. We were assigned a cosy house, that had all the comforts you need or expect from a 'katun': soft beds, enough blankets (mountain nights can be chilly), a hot shower, nice terrace on the first floor of the house and so on. Even the Wi-Fi reached our house. You will never leave the restaurant hungry, as they serve richly! Because our vacation included dinner, we were served really delicious traditional meals. It was really nice to try out local dishes and the host always kindly explained what they made for us. Do ask and do try those traditional meals! To drink you should really try their home made juices instead of a coca-cola, which you mostly pick out of habit. Breakfast, the same: really filling you up, but needed for the hikes of that day! The Komovi peaks are in their backyard so to speak, so it's an ideal stay if you'd like to explore those. For example: Kom Vasovicki is but a mere 4km away, but boy, is it steap. Don't underestimate it; it may prove to be more mountaineering than hiking. On the main road leading to the Eko Katun, there's a well with drinking water just before you enter the village, which comes in really handy for your hikes.
