260,000 kip for 3 Nts...Absolute Bargain. 
Lovely, helpful family who run the place.
Rented a bike from them, booked onwards tickets to pakse with them.
Nothing was too much trouble. 
Also cheap beers & great food.
What more could you ask for.

Fantastic Value

family guesthouse, cannot speak english, almost non-existent service, high prices for food, and ridiculous portions. 

If you need go somewhere, go pier, don't take the family boat, they'll charge you triple.

The cleanliness, the location near Don Khone along the Mekong, the delicious dishes, the kindness of the family, Mama and her family are adorable. It's a real heart attack. I'd love to have her contact to exchange with them because our children talk to us about them all the time and want to go back there!

Unforgettable

Laotian owned business, Tavendang is a perfect spot to chill on Don Det, away from the crazy places of party. Located on the south of Don Det near the old bridge of Don Kong. Great place straight on the banks of the Mekong. Rooms nice, comfy, bright and bathroom decent size and all clean. Mosquitoes net and fan is perfect as night become fresh near the river. Food is a must do, it takes time but it taste good. Mama Daeng and Papa Sieng are all nice and helpful with smile always, speaking a bit of English and a bit of french but she will make you understand her. Nice and safe swimming spot too at the guesthouse, ask her! We found hard to leave!! 300% recommend it!

Amazing little peaceful place with amazing owner

We stayed here for 3 nights, in one of the bungalows, the rooms are great with a double bed, fan and private bathroom.
Location is perfect with a view of the old French bridge and is centrally located so its easy to get around the 2 islands 
We hired bikes for the day which is a great way to get around 
Staff are very helpful Muma Den booked our onward boat and bus tickets 

The food in the bar is lovely and very reasonably priced 

Its well worth a stay we had a great time here 

Amazing place to stay

Found this place whilst cycling around island,and booked a room for 3 nights,40,000 p/n....loved Don Det and ended up staying for 10 nights,the family that runs the place are lovely people,and couldn't do enough for me.....basic wooden bungalow with cold water shower n mossie net,but room was clean and when I asked they cleaned room for me.....a restaurant as well the food I had I enjoyed,with present views on to the Mekong n bridge that connects the 2 islands.....wifi which worked well....and organised my onward trip to Vientiane......will be coming back

Fantastic time

If you love peace and quiet, this is a good place to be. The two bungalows on the river are very good, big size, good bathroom, amazing terrace you can do yoga or just chill all day in the hammock :). The other bungalows by the pathway are smaller and more basic but very cheap and still with great views of the river. You can rent bicycles to go around the two islands and the bridge is only 2 minutes walk for some fantastic sunset views. Although the restaurant is chilled and nicely placed by the river, we liked the food more on the other side of the river on Kon Det... Only minutes away across the bridge. But this is very personal of course. The boat can drop you  and pick you up from the guesthouse if you let them know when you book transport. Enjoy!

Chilled place near the French bridge to Kon Det; simple and rustic accomodation

The bungalows are very minimalistic and charming (50k). The location is great. Away from the busy north side but at the same time close if you rent a bike (10k).
A sweet family who works with a cute baby.
We were going to stay 3 nights but in the end we stayed 6 nights.
