Unahotels Ala Venezia - Adults Only

We booked a 4 night stay here after reading reviews about Ala on TA and must say we were extremely happy with the hotel, the staff, the location and amenities. Very easy to get to from Venice Sam Marco airport - got the Orange line ALILAGUNA direct from the airport to Santa Maria del Giglio stop, 50-100 metres from the stop, straight down the alleyway which leads directly infront of the hotel. We arrived 2 and half hours early for check-in and went to the reception to ask if we could leave our luggage there until check-in but were told our room was ready and accompanied us directly to it,even taking our cases. The room we were in was a tiny bit on the tight side but it didn't bother us at all. It was a beautifully decorated room which looked onto the adjacent canal used by the gondaliers. I had read TA that there was a mosquito problem, I cannot say there was. The chambermaids close the wooden shutters when they clean your room and also cool the room for you whist out. The mattress and pillows are the most comfortable we have ever slept on, I wish I had the same at home. I had the best sleep ever ever. Breakfast is served between 7-11 and is very abundant; cereals, four types of croissants, cakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, yogurt, bread, rolls, fresh fruit, cut fruit, sliced ham, salami, cheeses, coffees, teas, orange juice and another juice, everything you needed to fill you up and keep you going well into the afternoon, if not the evening. The reception lobby was great with complimentary cold water machine and a cold lemon, ginger and honey mix. Exemplary! The staff were faultless, nothing was too much for them, all extremely polite and friendly. On checkout day (11:00) we were allowed to keep our room for as long as we needed it, at NO extra cost (I have always been charged for late checkout wherever I've been) because our flight wasn't until 23:00, we left at 18:00. Very short walk to the Alilaguna stop and back to the airport. I must honestly say that Unahotel Ala Venezia is probably the friendliest and most accommodating hotel I've stayed in. I WOULD DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMMED THIS HOTEL IN A HEARTBEAT AND WILL ONLY STAY HERE IF I RETURNED TO VENICE. TWO VERY VERY HAPPY CUSTOMERS. THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF.
