Our golf group of 13 went for dinner and to watch the Ireland v All Blacks match .Our table was set up and ready when we arrived  and we all had a great view of the tv.
Despite the bar being  packed with locals and visitors the quality of hospitality and food was first class. This family owned hotel under the watchful eye of Tony and Kelly Ann is well worth a visit


Golf Weekend dinner

A terrible experience, will not be returning. The bread was mouldy with our breakfast. The blind and lampshade was torn in one of the bedrooms. The receptionist accused one of our party of deliberately breaking off the key fob, when it was explained that it fell off he called them a liar in a public place. When challenged on this he refused to back down. An extremely upsetting experience for a well respected older person who is the most law abiding person. When any of the foregoing problems were pointed out with politeness no apology was forthcoming from management - in fact we were met with repeated accusations of lying. Most definitely will not be returning and will be warning friends and family to stay away. 

Mouldy Bread & Rude Receptionist

We had a nice stay in September during an unusually warm week. Our rooms on the third floor were older and on the smaller size (compared to U.S. lodging) but clean and comfortable.  Our two rooms were quite warm even when the temperature outside dropped.  The single small window faced a small service area so airflow was minimal despite the oscillating fans in the room (no AC in this hotel).  I got the impression that all the rooms were unique and this might be an issue only in this small wing of the hotel but for us it was an issue.  Staff was more than friendly and location was great.  We would stay again (hopefully in a cooler room)!

Nice hotel for the price (but warm)!

McSweeney's was a great stay for us in Killarney.  The breakfast was one of the best of the trip and the bar on the first floor was very convenient and friendly.  The location is excellent for walking around town, and the staff was professional and attentive.  The only drawback was the open windows at night did allow the noise from late night partiers to interrupt our sleep.  Not much the hotel can do about that, and probably not a problem many months of the year.  

Great place to stay in Killarney

Great location in middle of Killarney.  Rooms are nice and clean and the service is excellent.  The food downstairs is good and the pub is great as well.  Tony and Kelly are the Best and make sure you are taking care of!  Couldn’t of been happier with our four night stay.

Great Place, Great Times!

Wonderful 2 night stay with the most helpful, fun hosts ! The hotel is centrally  located and the breakfasts included were great! Hotel staff gave great recommendations for local restaurants, entertainment and nearby places to visit.  

A Killarney Treasure 

Just back from a Fantastic weekend in Killarney. Stayed in McSweeny Arms Hotel and the whole experience was perfect from start to finish. From Rooms to Bar to Breakfast(waiting staff were so nice).The Lovely Kelly on reception,is probably the nicest person i've interacted with in all hotels i've stayed in before. Will definatley be back. Top Class Hotel. 

Fantastic Hotel

We just stayed there last week and what a lovely hotel.  The people that work there were so nice.  The rooms were immaculately clean and huge.  We had a drink in the bar that was connected and what a great bartender.  Also location walkable to everything

Wonderful stay

Nice little property right at the start of town. Pleasantly decorated and furnished room.  Good food at the restaurant. Staff were always pleasant/professional and willing to give a bit of tourist advice. Breakfast offered a nice selection. I'd be perfectly happy to return and would recommend the property to others  

Well located family run property  

McSweeney Arms was the perfect hotel for our small golfing group,  It is located near great shopping, restaurants and nightlife.   The hotel itself served great food starting with a really good selection of breakfast foods including delicious Irish favorites.  The Bar/Restaurant has equally good dinner meals and a nice, cozy atmosphere.   We stayed in the Standard Rooms and found them to be much more than standard, they are spacious and well appointed! 

Hats off to all of the hotel staff, starting with Kelley McSweeney, all of the McSweeney Staff,. those manning the frotn desk, serving the food and tending the tavern, were, to a person, friendly, knowledgeable and personable.

We had a group of 4, our main mission was golfing on the beautiful Southern Ireland Courses by the sea.  But, we also fit in some additional sightseeing, as well as enjoying the wonderful nightlife of Killarney.  Tony McSweeney and the Tavern Bar Tenders were very helpful in steering us in the right direction, including which roads were best to travel to our daily destinations.    We all had the time of our life and we will surely stay at McSweeney's when we return to Ireland again!

Perfect location, charming hotel with great pub & food ... room was spacious and our hosts were friendly and gracious!
