I had the best experience living with this family for 5 months. Yanik saved my life multiple times! Service is honestly excellent, and the location is perfect. We drove around on scooters so everything was relatively close, but if you're terrified to do that Sulendra might be your best option. It's walking distance from everything that downtown Ubud offers. Tip: Get soup at Soppa, literally right there when you walk out of Jembawan onto Sugriwa. I miss staying here, will be back soon!

Stayed Long-Term

Sulendra bungalow homestay is great! Tucked away from the busy Main Street, the only noises you'll hear are crickets and frogs !
The owners and staff are really nice and helpful. 
I stayed 2 nights and breakfast was different every morning (fell in love with the home made pancakes!). Clean bathroom and room. Great value ! 
Highly recommend!! 

Great homestay !

I spent 6 very good weeks at Sulendra Bungalow.
My room was big, clean and fresh. 
The staff have been lovely and helpful ! 
The location is ideal, close to the center and Yoga School.

I recommend, Five stars.

Bali for Yoga

I like that you have a lot of privacy here but I think it's a little bit to chilled the fan makes noises and the bath is a little bit to messy but all in all it's a very chilled hostel you have you're own balcony the view is average

Chilled single room

In daylight, it seemed nice...until the darkness hit.
I stayed in Ubud for a month and tried out 3 places, plus looked at a dozen others.

The setting is lovely. I moved here to get escape from the noise of Jalan Hanoman. Here the only noise is of the natural kind:crickets, frogs and roosters. But with those animals came smaller ones: cockroaches and ants. 

I can accept even insects in moderation but combined with other issues like the smelly stagnant odor in the bathroom at night, I was overwhelmed. It seems the toilet leaked water each time you flush so the bathroom floor was always damp and this could be a partial factor in the obnoxious sewer smell. The bathroom has a tub with shower head inside and I tried to clean up the place on my first night, but I think the discoloration is permanent. I mentioned the leaking toilet to the owner. The water temperature was not very hot either. 

I had a room in back on the lowest section down from the stairs. Night next to a koi pond with water feature and small patio where coffee and tea were placed each morning (My price was walk-in without breakfast). The setting once again was lovely but the maintenance is quite poor. It makes me sad as the "bones" are good but it really needs a thorough cleaning and overhaul.

There are not too many rooms there and perhaps some are better. The family that runs it are very friendly. You walk through their home area to get to the guestrooms in back that descend down the slope to a river.

The room had a small refrigerator and gas burner and sink. I used the refrigerator but that was it. I noticed that the cleaning of the entire room was rather shoddy too and asked the cleaning boy to wipe down the ledges where geckos had left lots of droppings.
