Hotel Raya's Annexe-1

Near Mahamaham temple. Spacious and clean rooms. Decent service. Fan in the restroom ( Good idea if you how Indians use toilet !! ). Car parking at the back of the hotel is large. Restaurant serves Veg and Non-veg. Pure veg have to go out in the town for Tiffin.

We visited Kumbakonam on 18th March 2019 & stayed in this Hotel Raya's Annexe -I, for 2 days for visiting Temples in & around Kumbakonam. We stayed in room No 604 in second floor. We booked this room over phone 7373023171 & the front desk manager Mr.Karthik & Mr.Venkatesh who attended my call assured & confirmed my booking by sending SMS reference. Also he assured for pick up from Railway station & arranged a Swift Desire AC vehicle with the driver Selvakumar , who is very cordial ,polite & thorough in all routes.
The room allotted to us ,is spacious , neat & with  Air conditioner ,TV, Dressing table, one Chair in front of writing table,one ward robe bereau, 3 plug points for charger & good knight mat, 
The bath room is sufficiently bigger with heater, bath sitting stool , Toileteries & Towels.
They also give one complimentary water bottle & News paper..
The room is provided with 2 door mates .
But this room is attached to another room with a door in the middle & this gives noice from the adjacent room occupants.
The room service is excellent & all service boys are obedient & changed our bed spreads on the next day immediately, when we made a request.
There is a vegetarian restaurant" Rice N Spice "of Raya's Grand Hotel adjacent & we took breakfast & Lunch here. The food offered is tasty & excellent & value for money.
We took Dry fruit Rava , which is very crispy & yummy.
We will definitely come back & stay in this Hotel again.

Pleasant stay in Hotel Raya’s inn for 3 days. It’s centrally located near Mahamaham tank.Modern amenities restaurant. Fine in facilities were available nearby.The rates are affordable and staff were courteous. All temples  were nearby.

Rayas is located centrally and is very clean. We booked a suite which had a dining table and bar fridge. All suites are located on road side and noise is high and so is the pollution from vehicles.  The A/C rooms helps to cool yourself after the long trips.  toilets are clean. Carry your own toiletries and towels if possible. They have fan in the washroom and it keeps it smell free. 

Overall positive experience.

I recommed ver much this hotel  . Very good hotel for the prize .

we are 4, stayed at Room Nos 606 & 607 from 10.11.2019 to 16.11.2019 in their Standard AC Room. Room ambience is very nice and comfortable. No restaurant attached - so this is most inconvenience and every time we have to order with the Room Boys for Coffee and Tea

This is near Mahamaham tank - opp to Post office. The property is good but does not have a good Veg restaurant nearby. RAYA Spice and Rice is not good - please do not venture there. 
This hotel uses phenol to clean the room so initially the smell is intolerable. Room, toilet  are clean. They have geyser so have 24 hot water. Water is hard.
Some People managing front desk are greedy so, do not take taxi from the hotel front desk. They take commission close to Rs 1000 for a day's taxi service ( Traverra One day in hotel is 4200 but they pay only 3400 to the driver. So 800 is front desk commission).
They have lift, car parking, give soap and towel and 1 ltr of water.
Mahamaham tank road is always has traffic jams. So, I recommend taking rooms away from it. Traffic diversion is unpredictable so please watch out. 
 
Lower rating for service is given ( 3 )because of the attitude of front desk. Otherwise the room service is excellent - morning coffee / tea was given quickly.

Hi, we stayed with family this week and rooms are small and very clean. 

Service is good. Car parks with driver stay too given. Really nice. 

Food are very expensive. We ordered for room service and twice asked for menu and price and it is not given and person keep telling that printed price are high and we will give special price. But it is shocking after having good and seen bill. Needed proper list and price tag.

HOTEL RAYA'S ANNEXE #1 @ KUMBAKONAM

The Raya's Annexe is located near many of the ancient temples of Kumbakoṇaṁ. The famous Mahamakam tank is round the corner.

The lobby areas on each floor and the rooms are generously large. The hotel is very cleanly maintained inside-- the parking lot can get a little messy because of visiting drivers. The beautiful marble floors are maintained spic and span. The parking facility is spacious although the covered area is limited to about 8 cars. 

There was a very strange smell (rusted pipes) in the bathroom that made the experience sour. We complained and we were triumphantly informed that the problem was fixed but it was not. The staff in general were very helpful although the front desk managers need more training.

Great Location. Hotels needs some upgrades

Recently stayed in Hotel Raya's for couple of days. Place is in strategic location. Not having dedicated Veg Restaurant on its own. Rooms are ageing old and only thing is that a/c's are working good.
Booking experience was Good. 
For the rate we pay, Facilities could have been better. 
Since most of the Tourist in Kumbakonam are of floating nature, Management is not keen on improving Customer Satisfaction.

Overall Value for money is "Moderate"
