I stayed without comfortable - Since you had to close the drapes at night due to mosquitoes it sort of ruined the effect of waking up and smelling the clean air from outside.

Our room consisted of a bed, no phone, a flashlight , a bar of soap, and two packets of shampoo, so that we could go down to dinner at night ( no lights illuminating the way).

The food was ok, and we did meet an exceptional couple from Amsterdam there. But, unless you are into doing nothing except reading on your balcony, there was nothing to do, There is no pool either. The Autoor village which is located nearby ( not within walking distance) is not worth going to see. Better keep driving to Madurai.

Worst Experience

This is one of the most peaceful and relaxing places we have ever visited.  Cardamom House is maintained to a very high standard by Chris and the team and they spared no trouble to make us feel welcome and at home.  As well as delicious meals on the veranda we enjoyed spending time by the pool, with marvellous views over the mountains and lake and were taken on a most delightful walk through nearby coconut and mango groves.  Thank you!

A perfect retreat

Cardamom House is our second home with Chris and all the staff, being what makes it. This rural haven is a truly special place that gets under your skin the more you visit it. The food and service are exceptional and it is a must if you are heading to South India.

Cardamon House is a home. Luxurious service in a welcoming and warm atmosphere provide a truly unique experience. The staff will meet your every need. The property is amazing with a well-maintained beautiful swimming pool, a children's playground, gardens, delicious food, and views! The accommodations are clean and exactly as we expected. There are many activities in the area but we decided to stay on the property and simply read and relax. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Chris, whom we dubbed an International Man of Mystery who shares his thoughts and views on life yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Cardamon House is a destination and we highly recommend it for your stay.

A fantastic Farmstay

We were planning to have a quiet getaway from a very hectic and stressful 2021. Was searching for quaint and secluded bungalows when we chanced upon Cardamom House. We reached on the afternoon of 24th December and had a very quick check-in with the help of the "Chief of Staff" - Murugesan. Settled in quickly into our "Summer House" which was the best villa at the end of the property. It was overlooking the pool with an undisturbed view of the kodai hills and kamarajar sagar lake.  
Food was prepared on demand - locally sourced for most parts and some grown on the farm itself. (Cardamom House has its own organic farm and mango plantation). Simple, authentic and great taste. You could chose from continental or local Tamil cuisine. Both taste awesome. 
The owner, Mr Chris Lucas is quite a conversationalist, I suggest you meet him at least once. The staff are great people, all local with no degree in hospitality but could teach the hospitality crew of some of the big hotels a trick or two! A special mention for Mr. Periyasamy who is was taught English by Chris himself and has inherited his British accent. Muthupandi, Kumar, and another young man (never introduced myself though) were always available for any help we needed. From badminton racquets, warm and hot water, anytime tea.... anything under the sun..... 
This is a no frills place, no TV in the room, low phone signal as well as low internet, but I personally did not miss it. I came here to get away from gadgets and gizmos. So for me it was mission accomplished.

Bird Song and the sound of Silence

We were looking for a quiet place to spend a night, close to Dindigul. 
We chanced upon Cardamom House in our internet search and are glad we did ! 
Our stay at cardamom House was awesome - away from the city hustle and bustle in the midst of nature in the foothills of the Palani Hills, overlooking the Kamaraj reservoir. 
The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and take care of our food needs. It felt great not to have a TV in the room and just chill out in the verandah with the family.
Would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet home away from home experience.

Hidden Gem at Athoor, Dindigul

It was a very good time, wonderful views, just calm troubled by the birds, a thoughtful and at the same time discreet service, an excellent kitchen, large rooms. Our host being ill during our stay (we hope he is now well recovered) we could not exchange much with him. Much attention also from his team (cocktail on arrival)

Very welcome.

We stayed 2 nights at Cardamon House and wished it could have been longer. The rooms are rather quirky with a walk in wet room with solar powered shower which, if you timed your shower correctly, was fine.
The food was lovely - freshly cooked and delicious and the staff who looked after us were delightful and very attentive. Chris the owner was a very interesting character and we had several very interesting chats with him.
There is also a lovely swimming pool to take a much needed 'cool off' from the heat.
Just one warning - you will not be alone in your room, we had a couple of lizards sharing our room which we found lovely!
So many thanks to all at Cardamon House, we loved our stay.

Lovely property with superb staff

What a great team help Chris run Cardamom House.  Great home-made soup & fruit light lunch on our arrival before relaxing with our binoculars on the verandah watching the sunbirds.  The pool was welcome, the staff super-attentive and helpful.  A really relaxing place.

Wonderful!

We spent two nights in Lovely Cardamom House.  I can't recommend this place highly enough in terms of it's beautiful location, comfortable accommodations, wonderful food, lovely attentive staff and incredibly interesting history that accompanies the former owner that lives there.  A great place to truly relax and unwind.  Nice pool to dip in too.  Anthoor is a small village nearby that is worth a stop for a cup of chai tea and to wander around.  The people are very welcoming.
