This is a nice place at a great location, and really inexpensive. I stayed in a dorm room with several other ladies, all of which were really nice (and most of them traveling solo). There is a kitchen that you can use, and if not, everything you need is close-by. Recommend.

Friendly little place

Stayed here for a couple nights , beds were nice rooms were clean and location was perfect but due to the location downtown it was very noisy at night especially if your on the second or third floor. Music from the clubs and pubs on the street make it very difficult to sleep at night. Overall decent stay .

Great location..but 

I stayed there four nights. The location is amazing, close to the center,the harbor and rhe main attractions. The atmosphere is chill and the facilities very useful. Open kitchen with free goodies. Big dorms with plenty of space for luggage and getting ready. I really enjoyed my stay.

Nice friendly environment

I am a travel guide. I often have to stay a few nights at the end of a trip. I recently spent two nights here. The posting on Trip Advisor were positive so I was hopeful.
First impressions not great. It seems to be a lottery if someone is around during the day. The annex rooms are along a dull corridor, with the fire exit blocked with piles of boxes and bags of washing(?)
The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom large and the shower unit good. Total lack of any atmosphere I would expect or hope for in a hostel. The breakfast was adequate but the staff on duty clearly switched off. Central location, but the last 50 yards dark and uncomfortable to walk along at night. There are better hostels in the city.

A place to recover from a week travelling!

Stayed here 2 nights prior to a 8 day tour.  Had a private room with private bathroom which was spacious, clean and quiet. Had a desk and twin beds which was basic but fulfilled needs.  Beds comfortable. Heated towel rail in bathroom. I didn't try the breakfast. Kitchen well stocked and clean, with oven,  microwave and dishwasher .  2 large fridges with a labelling system so you can keep your own food in a labelled basket,  or use stuff that is labelled for anyone to use. Reception open from 5am to 9pm when I was there (June).  Code number to get in after hours. 

Free wifi was fast enough. 

Location very convenient to downtown restaurants. Coaches and tour buses don't  drop off/pick up from here as hostel within restricted zone but bus stop not far away and easy to get to even with a large suitcase.

Will be staying in 4 bed dorm after my tour so will see how that compares. 

Great stay

This Hostel was a comfy little quiet hostel, smack in the middle of downtown Reykjavik, within a 1-5 minute walk from some of the best restaurants and downtown shops, also right around the block from a grocery store.

Offers a great little kitchen and laundry, also has Breakfast every morning with good coffee, fruit, toast and bagels. 

Service was incredible, we had to change some of our dates because of the WOW airline shutdown, and to compensate they gave us a free upgrade to the private bathroom private room, they didnt have to do this and it was so incredibly kind of them.

We stayed in a private room on the top floor with shared bathroom, the room was clean, quiet and comfy. Then we got upgraded to the private bathroom on the first floor, which had a nice big shower and a clean decent sized bathroom. 

I would totally recommend staying in this Hostel if you want a clean cost effective way to be in the heart of the city while having good breakfast every morning and knowledgeable staff who will look anything up for you and help you get around the city.

Great service, clean room, in an amazing location.

Stayed in room 32. Could clearly hear some stranger in a nearby building blaring away on the clarinet. Nothing could be done because we couldnt source the sound. Hostel booked solid so had no choice but to deal until this blowing physcho's lungs gave out. 12:30am...finally stopped.

Hostel is clean but some sheets have visible stains. Key card system doesn't work half the time. You spend a good amount of time in the hallway trying to get into your room.

Was going to end this but I cant...the psycho is now playing Irish music with a flute.

Midnight Clarinet Player

We had a private room in this hostel which was spacious,clean and adjoining bathroom. Towels and bedding provided. The best thing about it was the location. So central for walking and exploring the harbour and all reykjavik has to offer. Would stay again.

Central location

Nice, clean and not too expensive hostel in downtown Reykjavik. You can prettty much reach everything by foot from here. Friendly and helpful staff! Would definitely stay here again! Also as a female solo traveler.

Great stay!

A friend and I were booked to stay here at the end of a 3 week trip.  We had stayed in hostels for the whole trip and did not have any issues.  This place was too much of a stereotypical hostel for us.  We left and booked other accommodations after staying here for 30 minutes even though we were past the cancellation date and did not get our money back.  The beds in the dorm room leave little room for walking, the lockers do not accept standard luggage locks (but, of course, reception will sell you a lock that works for a high price), there was no room in the communal fridges, and the bathrooms needed a cleaning.  We asked if we could upgrade to a private room but none were available.

The place we ended up staying wasn't far from here so we returned each morning for the breakfast we had already paid for.  That was good.
