In a nutshell it was a terrible experience. It was unprofessional & I am very unhappy with Hotels.com for suggesting this place near airport. Firstly we reached much later than check-in time, the key was not present on key-lock, I called up the number & was asked to go to another hotel but key wasn't there as well. The guy came & started knocking people's doors to make space for us, clearly they double booked rooms & were playing dirty. He told us & all the other rooms he knocked that they sent mail informing the same, but none of us received any. Clearly they were bluffing & it was all a big mess. Finally we checked in very late after a tiring day, the room wasn't good or clean as well.

Terrible experience

We had to stay in Keflavik because our flight was departing on the next day very early. The blue lagoon and the shipyard in the lava field are close by (in Grindavik) but Keflavik itself hasn't anything to offer. Except the distance to the airport (in summer you can even walk in 30 minutes) and Olsen Olsen around the corner. Very nice burgers.

Plenty of parking available. Then you get a code from the owner to enter your room. With the code you have to choose the keys from various compartments. Didn't work out well for us. Had to call the owner but she came around very quickly and told me she forgot to send the codes. She was very kind but I wouldn't like to arrive late with such kind of problems.

Rooms were very big and nicely decorated. However you could hear EVERYTHING in the house. Even a quiet whisper in the upper rooms. Bathroom was way too small for 4-5 bedrooms. Only one shower.

Overall it was OK for a night and the owner was helpful, even though problems occurred.

I've stayed for one night and found it great. Its a simple room. Shared bathroom. Very clean. There's a kitchen for using too. Peter, the manager help you any doubt you have. As this is just a B&B, a bed is just what you gonna find. 

Comfortable bed and well located

Friendly staff, a clean room.
The kitchen needs some work, but was clean and had some breakfast items.
I booked with breakfast, but got none. There were some cornflakes and muesli but that's it. 
They speak Icelandic and English and they were ok with me having a friend over to come and say hi :D
The room was a bit cold, and you can hear the other guests really well. Most af them arriving and leaving at night.

Perfect for one night

The house is a beautiful little guest house.  Wonderfully decorated.  The owner isn't kidding with his post about steep stairs; if you have a large suitcase, its not going to be easy.  We stayed there our last night - coming in late from Blue Lagoon and leaving early for the airport.  One of the best sleeps I had my entire trip.

The owner had to come out late at night to let us in because we didn't realize we needed a code to get the keys - (make sure to check your email 24 hours before you go for that code).  So, even though it was late he came out and helped us; and then he came by that morning before we left to make sure we had a good night.

Really wonderful owner - beautiful place.
