We stayed here for 4 nights in July. The location is super nice. It's located in the top of a small mountain village with a great view to the sea. Our room was spacious and had a bathroom as big as ours. We were lucky to see the sea from our window. There are lots of mosquitoes up here. The rooms all have a mosquito net so most of the insects don't come in. Still, it's advisable to have mosquito repellents with you. Breakfast was ok. The hosts make the effort and make the marmalade themselves, etc. The terrace for breakfast is great. Sometimes the many elements disturb, but you have to count on that in the family nature. Overall, we found the atmosphere very friendly, uncomplicated and also convenient for children. The accommodation is good for children.

Great location & very family friendly

We have been to this hotel, the place is wonderful, cozy and quiet. A on average 5 km from the beach. The hotel is old style, the bed was not good, uncommon and uncomfortable, in the other everything was ok except for the fact that we booked this room for 1 week and the receptionist informed us that we should vacate the hotel with 3 days of stay away. Total disorganization is lack of respect with the guest. But when it comes to Greece, we can expect everything.

Good Hotel

We knew that Parthenon Guesthouse used to be very nice and so we decided to go there, unfortunately without taking seriously a friend's advice to avoid it. It was a really bad experience. We had 2 rooms one in first floor and the second in the second floor. First of all, the cleaning of both rooms was questionable as we found a spider with its cobweb in the toilet of the room above and a huge black and hairy spider on the floor of the room below. The rooms had no soap, nor shower gel or shampoo. When we asked for it we were given only soap and we were told that it is not foreseen to provide toiletries.The room above had no screen and there were plenty of mosquitos in the room. All furniture was old and in some cases antique, however none of these pieces was maintained. There was water coming from the ceiling, the shower did not work well as half of the water was leaking from the spiral. The toilet bin was of cheap plastic and was broken, the toilet door was so old that if somebody wanted to go to the toilet during the night everybody was waken. The bed of the room above was so noisy that my daughter could not sleep at all. We left my daughter's towel in the toilet and next day we found on it many ants having their walk on there (see picture)! Of course there was no cleaning of the room, they told us that it might be after three or more days! Last but not least, when I talked to the owner of the guesthouse, she didn't even try to answer to our complaints, apologise or try to improve the situation. It is the worst hotel I have ever been!

A completely abandoned guesthouse

I stayed there in August, had a large room in second floor with an amazing view. The room has no balcony, only windows, no a/c just a fun but it was ok. Breakfast was a real surprise, very wealthy with local products.
The real problem was with the insects, some enormous bees and mosquitos. There were no window screens, only in shutters but not good enough. So either you close the windows and have a hot room or you fight with the bees!
Please install some window screens and a ceiling fan.

Value for money hotel, beautiful view

We'd been trying to get a room in this guesthouse for a while and finally, after many attempts, we landed a booking. We arrived half an hour after check-in time and the owner realized just then that the previous guests of the room hadn't vacated it yet. In addition she informed us that our room was located in another building. She hadn't mentioned that on the phone when we made the reservation. They treated us to a cup of coffee and opened another room for us to leave our baggage. We left for the beach and when we returned in the afternoon we went to the main building where we found no one but the cook who did not know anything about our reservation or our baggage. The room where we'd left our suitcases was occupied. She suggested I call the owner to sort it out. I mentioned that the owner said our room was in another building so she walked us there where we found someone else who opened a room where all our bags had been moved. 
The room was on the second floor in a pretty house three minutes away from the main Guesthouse. The rooms have got only windows. There is a small balcony on every floor that is available to all guests so that means not much privacy. The view however is fantastic. Our room was nice but it didn't have air conditioning. I understand that it would have damaged the traditional architecture of the house but the heat is an issue. We were lucky the temperature dropped during our stay there. The biggest asset of the guesthouse is the breakfast. It is simply amazing. There are the basic cheeses and cold cuts, yoghurt, cereal and boiled eggs but the cook makes fresh, different things every morning like pies, doughnuts and/or omelets. Then there was fresh fruit, homemade jams and honey, baked tomatoes covered in Parmesan, rocket leaves with Parmesan flakes, olives, the variety is mouthwatering. And we enjoyed our amazing breakfast on a beautiful patio covered by a lush vine.
But there were also serious problems. The water pressure in the shower was very low until one time it actually stopped. But that was nothing compared to the bad quality of sleep. The bed did not have an actual mattress but a big piece of foam! And then there was cleanliness, or lack of. Our room was not cleaned for the entirety of our three day stay. They didn't even take out the trash or put a new roll of toilet paper! I took the trash out myself, washed the dishes, made the bed etc. I felt like home but I paid rent for the pleasure...
It's a nice establishment in a beautiful village but the people who run it, though they may mean well, are not professionals.

Be careful what you wish for.

What a wonderful patch of land in a beautiful mountain village, which has not yet been overrun by tourists, especially in the evenings. The owner is a gentle person, and you may be asked to eat and enjoy your own wine. The breakfast is great, as regional delicacies are prepared freshly. The view from the terrace to the olive groves and the sea is very beautiful. So whoever is looking for peace and quiet is right here.

A Wonderful Spot of Earth

Stayed here for 6 nights.  Beautiful rooms - we felt like home. Was only missing that they could have cleaned the room a bit more often, or at least taken the trash bin once a day. It was pretty warm days, and the bins started to smell quite fast. We missed a fan in the room as it was so warm during the nights. This place is a Bed and Breakfast, and the breakfast for excellent. Most of the food was homemade and tasted very good. A good start of the day!
If you want a calm and relaxing holiday, this is the place to go...the room also has a fridge and a kitchenette, if you want to make som lunch/dinner in the room.
