Poseidon (IOS)

This hotel was absolutely fabulous, we were so happy here for the entirety of our stay and couldn’t believe how cheap it was. Marina was absolutely wonderful a real salt of the earth person, she learned all of our names and would walk around the hotel and greet the guests. We had a good hour long conversation with her whilst we were at the pool and she was so lovely and welcoming to us. There is a lovely swim up bar in the pool with decently priced drinks such as mojitos and smoothies, that was really lovely aswell. The hotel itself is so idyllic it feels like a perfect little greek hotel and it is so beautiful. Our room was a triple room with all the basics, it wasn’t the most flashy room but it served us very well and had more than enough considering the price we paid, we also had a gorgeous veranda where you can look out on the port. In terms of location you are right in the heart of the port, there are shops, restaurants and bars all around however for the nightlife and the main strip it’s a 15 minute walk however it’s all completely uphill with lots of flights of stairs however we found it really easy to get taxis even late at night as the clubbing scene starts a lot later in ios and the taxis are all really resonably priced. The walk down is really easy too as it’s all downhill and it’s just a direct path of stairs back down to the port so you don’t have to pay a taxi for the way back. There is a flight of stairs to get up to the hotel itself which I read a bad review on before we came however it really wasn’t that bad at all, when we first arrived marina offered to help us with our luggage and there is also a luggage lift however we packed light so we were fine. The stairs are slightly tiring but not something that should put you off the hotel as its so beautiful and again really not that far, that review made it out a lot worse than it was. There is a beach by the port however we only went there once as it was very seaweedy however there’s a beautiful beach a 10 minute bus away for 2€ which we loved. You can also get the bus to chora (the nightlife) however it stops at midnight and we went out a bit later so we opted for a taxi (make sure you have cash though cause it’s cash only) and again that is only 2-€ each way. Overall we will definitely be staying here again it was absolutely stunning and we had a great time, if you are coming for the nightlife it’s also really nice to not have your hotel in the center of all of that and be in a quieter area so that you can sleep well and chill in the day. Definitely reckoned to anyone and i’m not normally a review person but I knew I had to write one for this hotel as it was just so lovely, thank you marina you were amazing and we will be back!! from mia,amber and liv xx
