Chambres d'Hôtes Le Cabourg

We landed in this hotel by accident. After combing through tens of hotels/B&B-s/campings/homestays in Normandy coast, we were already desperate. The sign "complet" was our biggest enemy (Tip: driving around in Normandy in July/August and not having a reservation for the nights can ruin your holiday). Until we arrived in the town of Cabourg and found the only hotel in the town that did not have the "complet" sign. It turned out that one family had to return to Paris this day and so one room was vacant. The staff was really helpful, despite our late-night arrival. Yes the price was quite high but we think it was worth it. The hotel was an old school villa with squeaky floors, woven tapestries and rather small but comfy rooms (ours also had a bath in the bathroom). Everything was clean and in immaculate order. The location was obviously not the most important thing for us but it suited actually well. It was very close to the town's centre, the main pedestrian street was ca 30 meters away. So many restaurants are just 5-10 min away. Despite the proximity to the centre, it was quiet at night. Parking was outside on the street, there were plenty of spaces. So all in all I would recommend this hotel. It's not by the beach like most of the Cabourg's hotels but the plage is not far. And remember: always book well ahead when in Normandy!
