I spent a week in Cayambe on business and stayed at the Mitad del Mundo. Very accomodating, friendly staff. Safe. Comfortable/clean rooms. Good price, central location. Adequate hot water--only one morning out of 7 was it only luke warm (which is pretty good for Ecuador). Good, basic accomodation. I'll stay there again. No one there seemed to speak any other languages than Spanish but I showed one staff member how to download a free translation program onto his cell phone. Later saw him using to assist an Italian guest and helping others on staff how to download.. No grief from the maids when I "invaded" their space and used a laundry sink and clothes line to wash and hang my clothes. Over all the staff seemed quite anxious to accomdate guests. Definitely will stay there again.
