Excellent experience and even more with the guidance we had, Steven, we enjoyed it to the fullest, thanks for teaching us nature, how to work as a team, and how to handle the ferry, and we will definitely be back, even the little ones enjoying class 3 speedily and safely.

Steven - water rafting is excellent!!!

We did the white water rafting whist staying at the tent camp. Absolutely loved it and Steve was a brilliant guide, big shout to him because the guides really can make or break an experience.  We were offered a similar trip in La Fortuna but really glad we waited until we actually got to Sarapiqui rather than a super long round trip. I’m ready for a class 4 (maybe, haha)

We went on Class 4 rapids, just us 2 and the guide and photographer in a separate canoe.
It was a will ride and excellent, we both loved the many raids we went down and they weren't that scary considering we are in our late 40s and not rafted for a long time.
We stopped off half way down for some delicious pineapple and a swim, even a jump of a ledge which was probably more scary  than the rafting!!

All in all great experience, very serene when just floating down the river and enjoying the silence.
The Hacienda was well equpted with a nice food in their restaurant.
There were female and males hanging rooms with lockers for your goods and showers to freshen up after the rafting.

Pura Vida all the way!!

We went for a horseback tour. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable and the animals seemed very well taken care of!

I can’t speak for the hotel or other activities, but from the little bit we saw, they all looked nice with a wide variety of options

Lovely horseback tour

We had a full on day at the hacienda Pozo Azul doing - for the first time - zip wiring (above the rainforest and across the river) , rappelling , and after a lovely lunch a two hour horse riding hack. 
The team looking after us was fantastic, very professional and welcoming, with good sense of humour. 

We are horse riders in the UK and one has to bear in mind that riding here is quite different, with a different approach to horses. This is of course adapted to tourists. 

We do highly  recommend this place.

Great experience

We ate at the restaurant after practicing rafting in the Sarapiqui River, which is right next door. Serviceable, friendly and attentive staff. We ate traditional food, the palmito ceviche was very good. Pure life.

Costa Rica 2022 

Stayed here as part of a G Adventures tour and loved every minute. Our dedicated guide, Carlos, was wonderful. We had an excellent night tour and early morning bird watching walk with him. The jungle tent accommodation far surpassed expectations - was really worried about bugs and spiders but needn't have worried. I've been white water rafting around the world and this was by far one of the most fun of them all.

The service in the restaurant was impeccable, it took a while because of the crowd, but the service, kindness and quality of the food was incredible.

I have to start this review by saying that this was a bit too basic for us but that is purely personal preference!

Pozo Azul is in a beautiful setting in the middle of the forest. It’s quite unique and very pretty but if you want comfort this isn’t the place for you!

The staff were very helpful, kind and friendly. They even drove me into town to get a birthday cake for our daughter! A lovely place to spend a couple of nights and enjoy nature! 

Great experience!

It was our fourth hotel in Costa Rica for our honeymoon. And what a disappointment! When we got there we wanted to go back, fortunately we only had to sleep there one night. Our tent was old, torn, there was space under the door that allowed our friends insects to enter. So the tent was full of spiders. It wasn't clean at all (crushing around the toilet). We asked for another tent that was better and especially just cleaned but good... With the climate this style of housing isn't pleasant. The sheets are wet. It's a shame because the frame is nice. The food level is at the height of the beds. It's just fine, the little lunch is still around. And there is nothing really bad about it. And we don't even advise you on the nature of this place.
