Amatierra Retreat And Wellness Center

This trip was a yoga retreat, and I went into it not knowing what to expect—especially since I had never been to Costa Rica before. The country itself was incredibly welcoming, and the natural beauty is unforgettable. While I had moments of discomfort and adjustment, especially in the beginning, I ended up having a really magical and meaningful experience overall. The Amatierra property is truly beautiful. You’re quite literally staying in the jungle, which brings both charm and challenges. There’s definitely some wear and tear, but it’s clear that the team makes a strong effort to keep things clean and as bug-free as possible given the environment. The food was genuinely some of the best I’ve had in my life—fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Jill and Bob are very kind, attentive hosts who run the retreat with a lot of care and structure. The staff were consistently warm and accommodating. I’m very grateful for the experience and would absolutely return to Costa Rica. The retreat helped me reset and reconnect in ways I wasn’t expecting. Thank you!
