Kind of like staying at your fun uncle's house. I had a nice room with large window over the street. Shared bathroom was almost always available as there are a limited number of rooms. No large common area, but you always feel welcome at the kitchen table and there is a small terrace up top.Owners are friendly and super helpful. La Mararena is an active, safe neighborhood with bars and restaurants. (same block as La Jugueteria) Is is also an easy walk to La Carrera Septima which takes you to La Candelaria (Old Town equivalent) Breakfast is at an additional, minimal charge of 9,000 COP. (January 2016) and includes eggs, toast, fruit, fresh juice (yum), and tea or coffee. Small markets (water, pop, snacks, beer, cigarettes, etc) nearby and taxis can easily be caught at the end of the block. Safe, convenient, friendly
