N34°47'41.7" E114°20'44.0" (WGS-84) In the past, Kaifeng had closed all hotels for foreigners except for a few four and five-star options. The Jinjiang Inn hotel is a budget accommodation that is still accepting foreigners. We had no trouble booking this hotel through an internet-booking website. Jinjiāng Inn Hotels is a well-run hotel chain, which offers clean, well looked-after and modern rooms at modest prices. In August 2017, we paid €23 per night without breakfast through an internet-booking website, because we struggled with their Chinese website. At arrival, our room was offered by the hotel for €18 per night. That is nearly a 30 percent mark-up for the internet-booking website. The hotel offers a surprisingly good breakfast for €2.50 per person. Our room 507 on the fifth floor had a good double bed, good functioning air conditioning, desk, television, streaming internet and a small window with view on the Zhongshan Lu and Sihou Jie intersection in the centre of Kaifeng. The bathroom had a shower, toilet and hair dryer. We did our laundry in a washing machine free. Staff at the hotel was efficient and helpful, but did not understand any English. Smartphone translators closed the gap, with the usual misunderstandings. Jinjiāng Inn Hotel is an affordable, solid, no trill budget accommodation in the centre of Kaifeng. Look around for the best deals. Very recommended.
