Reason for my 5 out of 5 rating is that I truly believe that the Wheatland Motel is by far the best place to stay in Vulcan.

My experience during my 45 day stay was way more than what I was expecting. A clean room, which was cleaned regularly and fresh linen regularly, bbq’s to use and a hospitable run family motel convinced me that this is the best in Vulcan.

Matt and his family will do great if they keep up their hard work and devotion to the Wheatland motel and the experiences they give to their guests.

I highly recommend this place if you’re traveling through Vulcan and need a place to rest and relax.

The rooms have new beds in them that are very comfortable. It’s an older motel but kept up very good, very clean and the people that own it are awesome. I was storm stayed in town and the gentleman went and turn heat up before I got into the room and his wife was cleaning the snow off my car in the morning and he cleaned the snow out from behind the car so I could get out. Top notch people Thank you.

My hubby and I were on a midweek getaway before Christmas. We were heading back home and decided to stay in Vulcan we stayed here. Although dated the rooms Are very quaint. We had a kitchenette room which was quite large. With a separate bedroom. The rooms are extremely clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again while driving through! Friendly check in. And well kept property! 

When first walking in, the room had a musty/old smell.  It is very nice and clean though.  Air conditioning was in the main room and a tv was in the main room and small bedroom.  WIFI was good.  The kitchenette was stocked decently: kettle, toaster, dishes, etc.  It had a large fridge and stove.  It is close to the 2 main Star Trek attractions: museum and enterprise. I would stay again.  The office to check in though was extremely hot.

In town for the Vul-Con. It looks kinda scary from the outside, but our room was clean, comfortable, has a kitchenette, and 2 beds. One in the bedroom,  and one in the living room.
The owner is pleasant and eager to please. 

It was nice to have 2 rooms when travelling with kids. You will stay at better looking motels, but the beds were comfy, and the kitchenette had everything we needed to make a nice egg and bacon breakfast. My son forgot his coat in the room and the owners quickly phoned us so that we could retrieve it. A respectable and economical motel run by a hardworking couple.

Was in town for work, stayed one night, cheap/ affordable, old but comfy. Got a/c microwave and fridge, the fridge and a.c. were older then me but they work. Clean, staff is pretty nice, gave me a water bottle so made my day.

The Wheatland Motel has seen better days, but for the price you can't beat it. The Korean owners really did try hard to make any shortcomings right, and for the most part, succeeding.

When the owner asked if we wanted a single or double, we thought it was for the kind of bed. Actually it was for the number of beds in our unit. We got a spacious unit with a double bed in the living room AND another in the separate bedroom. The single person with whom we were travelling also got the same, but our neighbours who arrived later could only get a "single"...a very small unit with one double bed that almost filled the space.

All units have kitchenettes (with fridge, gas stoves, & coffee makers), big LCD TV (in each of our "double" rooms) with satellite, good wi-fi, and air conditioners (albeit very old & noisy). Someone had removed the smoke alarm in our room, and the owners seemed to be running around all day fixing this or that (our air conditioner wouldn't turn on at first). There were a number of communal propane BBQs for use as well, and lots of parking.

Luckily it wasn't too hot when we stayed. As mentioned, since our air conditioner was quite noisy, we only used it to cool our room down before going to bed. The bed in the bedroom (which had the air conditioner) had a saggy mattress, but strangely the bed in the living room was fairly new & firm.

But everything was very clean, and had everything we needed...even more for the price!
