Rose Garden Bed and Breakfast

For a two-night family stay in Toronto in July we spent two nights in the Rose Garden.Super welcome from Vera, nice room, excellent breakfast...Everything was perfect with a little bemool for our big girl's bedside which was a little narrow.

Toronto as at home

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Rose Garden. Bottom line, Vera made sure we were well taken care of. I e-mailed several times with questions before our arrival and she responded quickly. When we arrived she helped us park, asked if we had any questions, continuously asked if there was anything we needed, and made sure our stay was pleasant. 
     I enjoyed the breakfast each morning. 
     We stayed in the king bedroom. It was roomy and comfortable.
     The location of the Rose Garden allowed us to get around Toronto easily. It is a short walk to transportation stations in either direction. We easily navigated the subway and the streetcar line. We started our visit with a 30-minute walk to the University of Toronto. 
     The Rose Garden is on a busy street but once inside the house, it was quiet for us. There are many restaurants around the Rose Garden. Bathurst, though busy, divides two quiet neighborhoods. We enjoyed walking in those neighborhoods and relaxing in their parks.

A Lovely Stay

The Rose Garden  is a small house on a busy street,once entered, it is quiet and friendly. Vera is a fantastic hostess, ready to help in any way..an extra chair for the room, directions to places of interest and a simple ,complete breakfast each day. It is on a main trolley line and walking to places is also easy.

Small, friendly ,convenient.

Clean room, delicious breakfast, everything in order, very pleasant and attentive host, I'd come back anytime, the brilliant location makes the Rose Garden a tip for an inexpensive stay in Toronto.

Perfect location and friendly host.

The bed and breakfast is not very central but in walking distance to the subway system. Parking costs 10$ per day. Doug and Lisa are very nice hosts. The room was clean but the shower was a bit tricky to manage, it was either too cold or too hot. Breakfast was very nice, we got to meet and talk to the other guests and share travel stories. There is very good homemade granola, yoghurt and a choice of eggs that are prepared on your request with bacon and bagel or croissant. 

Nice stay

We like a lot the place, the room and breakfast, Lisa and Doug been very nice and good for us, near of subway, only twenty minutes walking  downtown. It is a great opportunity for know the day by day of a Canadian family, different experience of a hotel.

Great days!

Doug and Lisa are just the sweetest people. I was in town interviewing for a job. I needed a day in my room just to research and prep. I was able to do so in total comfort and quiet. I was so nervous and Doug was kind enough to give me a little pep talk and encouragement before I left to go to the interview that morning. It truly made me feel like I was staying with friends. (I got the job by the way!). The house, although older, is immaculately clean. My bed was so comfortable! Breakfast was fantastic. Everything you could need is provided, including a robe, towels, toiletries, hair dryer etc. You can grab a tea or coffee any time of day. The location is in an older part of the city called the Annex. I’m very familiar, having been born and raised in Toronto. I can promise you it is a safe area. It’s got a more eclectic crowd in that area, close to U of Toronto, and you’ll find some funky hip little spots to eat and shop very close by. Try the Grapefruit Moon restaurant just south on Bathurst. Walk to Bloor and you’ll find tons of restaurants of every type of cuisine as well as great little shops! I really couldn’t have been in a more relaxed and happy location for a stressful event like interviewing. So grateful!!

Like staying with family!

I have stayed here twice.  Both times it has been excellent.  I had the twin bed room with private bath the first time and the double bed room with shared bath the second.  The owners are friendly and the breakfast was very good.  It is about a 10 minute walk to the subway so it is a convenient location for getting downtown.

Nice B&B, Nice people

Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, this B&B is a great choice for a visit to Toronto. Public transport is nearby, the drive to downtown is not long. There are many restaurants nearby of various orientations; the host, Doug, is willing to give good tips. Parking is a few meters away at an affordable price. Breakfast is good and plentiful.

A friendly host in a good house

We stayed here for five nights and felt very comfortable in the Rose Garden. The breakfast was especially good. Our bathroom was large and clean. The B&B is lovingly decorated. The bus is a good connection to the city center.
