REO Rafting Resort

A lovely place to detox from busy lives for a few days. Yummy food, yoga, & river rafting in a beautiful remote setting. The owners care deeply that you enjoy your visit. The staff is lovely. Tents are cozy, bedding is warm and the roar of the river lulls you to sleep. Extras include archery, volleyball, board games, hot tub and a lot of relaxing!

I came here with three girlfriends and we had a great time.  We shared one tent and the beds were very comfortable and the tent was big enough for us to not feel crowded.  Our tent was along the river and it was lovely and shaded with a nice deck. If you are sound sensitive, you may want to bring earplugs for sleeping.  The bathrooms were nearby and they were clean and fresh.  The eating area was lovely with tables for each group.  The food was simple and delicious.  We did some yoga, kayaking and had massages.  We also walked down to a small remote beach and enjoyed the cold waters of the river.  All of the activites were excellent.

It’s truly a wonderful place. Well thought out with thoughtful, kind and efficient staffing. Everyone there loves what they’re doing and love showing you. We stayed in a tent with four queen beds, wonderful sheets, and comfy beds. Everything was very clean.

Bathrooms were very convenient with showers and again all were very clean. Ensure to try the outdoor shower.

So much to do with rafting, yoga, massage, kayaking, hiking, sunbathing, and dipping in the river, eating and so much more. You could do it all or you could do nothing and just enjoy the scenery. There was no pressure.

I highly recommend this place and I can’t wait to go back

Went for two night get away and was wishing I had booked longer. The shared tent set along the river edge was so spacious, beds very comfortable and cosy. Meals were very flavourful and all food sensitivities or allergies were thoughtfully addressed. Be prepared to explore and enjoy so many varied areas to relax, hot tub, excellent  yoga classes, hammocks to read or nap… Highly recommend their friendly and attentive staff to ensure a wonderful time.

I went with my friends for a mini-weekend get away. We were all tired and worn and just needed some natural relaxation. REO was the perfect fit for us. From the phone booking to our last meal, we felt the attentiveness and warmth of the staff and the care of each detail in our vacation. 

REO has experienced many setbacks from surviving the pandemic to an atmospheric river flood to a wild fire. Despite all this, the resort provided a full array of activities including white water rafting, kayaking/paddle boarding, yoga classes, massage, hammock garden, hot tubs, fire pits for nighttime gatherings and of course, amazing riverside patios. 

Inside the spacious tents, the bedding was comfortable and warm, and I fell asleep to the sound of the raging river every night. There are single room toilets and showers that were clean and readily available. Every meal was delicious - clean, healthy and satisfying food.  But I have to say, my favourite experience was Brian, the owner. He would come around at lunch or dinner time to casually say hi and answered our questions. We were able to let him know our needs and likes and he would so discreetly offer us the best solutions. We felt very well taken care of. 

This is my second time to REO, I will be returning again with family and friends. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to all Canadians and International visitors looking for either adventure or a place to relax.

** UPDATE: With a heavy heart, I have decided to post this review even after finding out that REO Resort was devastated in a wildfire last week. Perhaps rebuilding will be possible, and then my experience can inspire others to support them in the future. This place was magic and I look forward to returning.***

Booking a last-minute 3-Night REO yoga retreat turned out to be a fantastic decision, giving me much-needed rest and self-care after a grueling work project and the sudden cancellation of my international vacation. 

REO gave me the best parts of wilderness camping, with everything taken care of so I could just breathe & be: cosy, comfortable bed, private deck with the view and sound of a powerful river rushing past, delicious simple-but-varied meals that hit the spot, activities like guided hikes, archery or rafting if I wanted, and staff that always seemed to know when and how much I wanted to chat, and when I was enjoying the peace and solitude. (p.s. I don't know how they cooked steak so perfectly med-rare for so many people all at once but it, with a wild greens & beet salad, was the highlight meal of my trip. kudos.)

My positive experience started right from the staff member who  booked me over the phone, going out of her way to share all the options and even hand-picking exactly the right tucked-away glamping tent for me based on my description of what I wanted:  yoga, fresh air, and rest. The drive was easy, although the traffic of Vancouver made it take longer than the website advertises - probably closer to 3.5 hours instead of the stated 2.5. But well worth it - it was actually a pretty fun drive once you pass the turn off at Hope, with awe-inspiring  tunnels carved right through rock. 

With up to 4 yoga classes available each day, I benefited from different styles, from morning flow to candlelight restorative. With the small class sizes, many of the teachers took a special interest in helping me rehab a knee injury by adapting poses and offering in-depth suggestions. Barbara was particularly knowledgeable and I felt as if I had a personal strength and recovery coach in every one of her classes. Forest yoga with Robin was utterly unique and tailored to vibe with the outdoor space. I also did a guided nature hike with Jasper who's scientific knowledge of flora and fauna was exceptional. In between yoga sessions, I read, napped in hammocks scattered throughout the property, and didn't have to make any decisions - exactly what I needed.

I drank lots of lemon-infused water, little alcohol (although that was just my choice - up to you, BYO), and fell asleep every night by 10pm, deeply content. I highly recommend this for a solo me-time trip, but would also come back with my partner and kid because it's got great options for families too. Other guests while I was there had small children, and one large group was definitely having a blast with activities and rafting. The property is laid out with enough nooks, lounging spots, and space for all - including a gorgeous private sandy beach.

I thoroughly and whole-heartedly recommend this place. Just go - you won't be disappointed.

We are blessed in BC with an abundance of natural beauty to explore and REO has a prime spot. Everything on my 3 day yoga retreat was amazing. From the well equipped glamping tents (you will not be cold at night) to the tasty daily food, to the attentive and amazing staff, my days here were a perfect mix of movement and stillness. Do the yoga, do the rafting, do the walks, and engage with your fellow travelers! Kudos to the  amazing yoga teachers  for making my practice memorable ♥️😊

Returning to the REO Rafting White Water and Yoga Retreat was a dream come true, and it only got better when we celebrated my birthday amidst the natural wonderland of British Columbia's Nahatlatch River.

Once again, we were greeted with open arms by the remarkable owners and staff, creating an immediate sense of belonging. This family-run oasis tucked away in the woods holds a special place in our hearts.

Our cozy glamping tents provided a serene escape, allowing us to connect with nature without sacrificing comfort. Surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Nahatlatch River, we truly felt one with the wilderness.

Our 5 children joined us for a few days and everyone was just as delighted and impressed - those cherished moments of family bonding and shared laughter added a special sparkle to our journey.

It’s hard to know where to start! A retreat can be made magical by the location but also by the people there. REO has both. I originally booked a different retreat which was canceled but the owner, Bryan, ensured that I would still receive all of the special activities and accommodations. The staff went out of their way to make me feel at home and were extremely personable. 

The accommodations: the glamping tents were spacious. There is a private porch on each tent and bathrooms are all within close locations. The showers are lovely, spa like and have wonderful hot water! The resort has everything from a beach area to a stage, hot tub, nature walk area, hammocks and tree swings!

The food: OMG! What an underrated factor! The food was delicious!! Three meals a day and they always had amazing cookies and pastries. There was ALWAYS vegetarian and vegan options available. They even had alternative milk available and always had fresh lemon water. Sometimes breakfast had a delicious smoothie sometimes it had fresh squeezed oj! 

The activities: each night was magical. The first night there was a lovely sound bath and gentle yoga led by River and Amanda (who are amazing individuals) and the next we had live music from local musician North Easton. I also did white water rafting which I cannot recommend enough, the guide, Jerry was extremely knowledgeable and the rapids were all different and interesting in their own way. The nature hike was lovely and had informative plaques including information about the native nation that the resort regularly works with. The yoga was great and I had a bunch of different teachers and styles, Robyn, Liam and Georgia were excellent! The practitioners were friendly and knowledgeable and often available to talk more or have a meal with you! 

The location: honestly driving there and back I almost cried multiple times. The mountains are just gorgeous. 

The vibe: there were families with small children, babies and also teens. There were solo travelers, couples and friends traveling together. There was also a large group traveling together so definitely a range.

Magical experience

REO Yoga and Wellness getaway provided everything it promised. The 4 yoga classes that are offered daily vary enough to take all in one day, which we did on our first full day there. The food was beautiful, wholesome and delicious and their ability to cater to various food preferences and allergies was impressive. It is a beautiful setting with plenty to do when there is down time. Among the many options I enjoyed the guided nature hike along the river canyon and also archery. I love forward to making this a yearly getaway. Thank you REO!
