We stayed here for 3 nights and our room felt like an apartment - really comfortable and cosy. There is also a kitchen that can be used and an outside garden. 
Breakfast was excellent - so much choice and really excellent value. Lovely fresh bread a variety of cheeses and meats and I very much enjoyed the strawberries too 

The location is excellent too - in a quiet suburb not far from the main Railway Station. Trams are easy to use - No 4 or 2 to take you to the Railway Station and then No 1 to the city centre. There is a bus stop close by too. 

The room was impeccably clean & so comfortable and really spacious - we felt as though we had a whole apartment to ourselves. 

The history of the family and the house was really interesting. We loved exploring Ghent and there was so much to see. Many historic buildings, museums and galleries. 

Really recommend staying at this B&B - such a good experience.

Comfortable with wonderful breakfast

Lovely B&B in a quiet area of Gent but close to the centre. Great breakfast and we could use the kitchen as well. Nice garden and our amazing host even provided a little pool for our daughter. The rooms were clean and well sized, a cot was provided and we got some interesting insights about Lieven Bauwens and the family history.

Great B&B in quiet area

It's very easy to get there by tram, near a stop, and if you like walking you can walk. It's a quiet and very pleasant place. The room I stayed in was great, big with a large bathroom. The only thing I didn't like was that the owner came into the room in the morning. I didn't have breakfast.

A quiet and pleasant place

We leave from the neighborhood, very quiet, nice and cozy. The property of the b&b is very polite, kind and available. The room is fabulous, spacious, bright and clean. The distance from the historic center and the train station is unique if you travel only on foot.

A fairy tale

Comfortable, spacious and cozy rooms, perfect cleanliness, friendly, sweet hostess. The hotel has a cozy garden where you can have breakfast, sit for a cup of coffee, smoke. We had two rooms, one of them a very specific reception))) - the shower and toilet area is not isolated, there is a curtain, but the whole room was covered with a large reception area.

What a lovely hotel!

The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean. Very cozy and stylish furnishings. A comfortable bed, clean bedding. The bathroom is just huge with an ideal shower room. It's nice to enter. What's important, the shower itself works very well. The towel is plenty. We didn't get breakfast, but there's always the opportunity to use a kitchen where all the necessary dishes are available.

It's a very good hotel.

We were in August in the room for 4 people. It's a family home and it's really like being at home. We had our living room with a sofa bed, a separate room, a front desk. You had the option of preparing something yourself in the kitchen... finally, like being at home with your own door key. The lady who attended us was really kind, even asking if we had any preferences for breakfast or if we needed something concrete for the comfort of the children.

 RECOMMENDABLE 100 percent by weight

We really liked our room in this B&B. It was very comfortable, spacious and very stylish. The bed was amazing and the shower was wonderful! The owners were nice and polite. What we were not aware of, is that the B&B is located about 3-4 Km from the city center, which made it a bit inconvenient for us to travel back and forth to town. When we arrive to Ghent, it was dark and it was raining, so we took a taxi to the B&B. Later on we took the bus 5 to the city center (around 15 minutes). Having been right in the city center in Bruges, we were really spoiled and expected the same. Next time we will research this more before booking. We paid around 95 euros for a double room (breakfast excluded)

Good B&B, but far from the city center

Lieven Bauwens is a great B&B in Gent. We had the Delphine room for 5 days and it was wonderful. The room was  large, bright, clean and the bed was comfortable.  The daily breakfast was amazing; the selection of breads, cold cuts and cheeses (there were about 12 cheeses to choose from) were delicious.  Christine and Paul gave us so much insight into the life in Belgium.  They were such gracious hosts that we felt very welcomed and comfortable. The walk from the train station and the convenient train rides to all the other places that we went to made it a convenient B&B. 

Wonderful B&B

We spent a night in one of the rooms, it's a family home that welcomes you as one more of the family, with all kinds of details, spacious living room, huge bed and comfort, very clean with the bathroom included and a mega shower with some towels with an incredibly clean smell. We don't speak anything Spanish, but if you chapurreas el spaninglis you can have a conversation with the owner. This is a little far from the center of Ghent, you have 10-15 minutes walking to the train station where all the buses and trams take you all over the city, we take the tram line 1 and in 10 minutes we get to the center of town where you can visit in a day. It's a little expensive room one night 95€ without breakfast, but we're going to a very nice house and thank you very much for everything, including our grandmother's house and our grandmother's house!!
