Naftan Hotel

This hotel is situated in a 1960s purpose-built building and park area. It has hotel rooms and suites in all classes. The only available rooms at my arrival were a suite and standard single. After looking at both, I settled for the fantastic value standard single at USD 18 per night. The room was basic but met all my needs. Basic bathroom, good but basic room. The decoration felt similar to an IBIS hotel. There were no irritating noises, smells or other problems and the room was meticulously cleaned. Unfortunately wifi was not available in the room, but only in the hotel lobby with a "ByFly" internet access card which you can buy very cheaply from reception. Breakfast was extra but very cheap. You order from a menu and food arrives quickly. The menu has translations into English. The hotel has a hairdresser, a little cafe/bar, a souvenir shop and some form of gym or training area. The restaurant is of a good standard; probably best restaurant in Novopolotsk. Prices are very modest from a Western European perspective. The entire menu is translated into English. A bus outside the hotel compound leaves for Polotsk every 10 minutes or so, taking about 20-30 minutes. Polotsk is a well known historical town in Belarus.
