My forth hotel in Hanoi in two months. Would not go back to the three previous hotels. I will stay at Hanoi sports hotel for now on. The staff are kind, helpful, and polite. Everyone including cleaning staff always greeting you with a hi and friendly smile. Rooms big, clean, all amenities you would need. WiFi worked perfect, a must for me. Anything I needed or wanted to see the staff can and will take care of. I normally don't write reviews but after my first three experiences thought I should. I give this hotels thumbs up.

Great place

Once we reached, we were told that there are no dorms( we had booked female dorms). Instead they checked with some other hotels for room availability. And then the receptionist said that we might have to pay a little more to get a private room as there is no dorm available in their hotel nor in the one where they checked. 
We refused to pay more as we had already paid online for the dorm booking. Then she said that she would provide us a private room which has a double bed and a single bed and we might have to share it with another person. We agreed. 
Luckily, no third person came in our 2 nights of stay. 
There was no wifi available at all. And our room was in the 5th floor without a lift. 
To access wifi, we had to come to the lobby.
Wasn't a good experience. 
There's a lot of hostels around. 
And a supermarket in the lane behind. 

Wasn't a great decision.

The position of the hotel is perfect. Right in the middle of town near amazing bars and restaurants. The street is shut of from traffic in the evening so you can stroll down the back streets.
The hotel has friendly staff but the rooms are dirty and run down. There was no lifts so you had to drag your suitcase up and down flights of stairs.
If this hasn’t been prepaid as part of a trip to Halong Bay I would not have stayed. Thank goodness we were only in the room for a few hours.

Dirty rooms.

I was looking to get a french tip manicure done and looked at the price sheet outside of Hanoi Spa. An old lady who worked there assured me that it would cost 60k dong and I kept confirming that it was the price. I'm Asian, but can speak quite a bit of Viet. It wasn't until they asked and found out I was a foreigner that I was charged 160k for the nails, which I argued with the lady and she kept trying to justify why it was more than double than what was agreed on. The girl who did my nails did a mediocre job as well (saying that her hand was "jittery" that day) and she cut and made my finger bled after she tripped it. So dishonest, do not go to Hanoi Spa in this hotel if you want to get ripped off even though you agreed on a price beforehand.

Foreginers: Beware of Getting Ripped Off at Hanoi Spa

The staff are rude and multiple times  referred to us a garage! The travel desk booked us tickets to and from Sapa, the bus there was good and on the return it was shocking. The bus was two tiers below the one we had booked it arrived at 3 instead of 6 and were woken up to get off quickly! The lights were left on the entire time and the seats dirty and squished. They have seen admitted it was there mistake but still refuse to do anything
