We held our daughters wedding at Deer’s Leap Retreat what a beautiful venue, absolutely AMAZING. Heather and her staff were fabulous with customer service second to none.
Food was great, I can’t thank you and your team enough for making my daughters special day even more special.

Our son has just had his wedding here where we and 28 others spent a long weekend. It was a wonderful experience where the owners had put in every effort to support our stay. Everyone thought the venue was uniquely delightful.

We decided to get away for the weekend once lockdown was eased. Came across this place on Air B&B. We've absolutely loved how quiet the place is for just a couple days peace (without the kids 😂). The grounds are nice for a walk around and the hosts are very helpful. I'd highly recommend this place for couples or large groups for the bigger house available next door. 

We had our most amazing long weekend at this magical place. The best value for a special weekend for pan intimate wedding if someone loves nature, animals, great food beautiful countryside and does not love big show off weddings that comes in "off the shelf" packages. This felt like Heather and her team were family members and they put their heart in everything they do. By far the happiest times we have had here and all our guests share these thoughts. Thank you all xxx 

We had 4 fantastic and relaxing days in Deer's Leap. We've travelled from Hungary to Bristol, where we took a taxi. It took 80-90 mins to get here by a taxi, and even the route showed, the place is far away from everything. But that's the most important value of it. Superb surroundings, the hills, the valleys, the sheeps, cows horses around. Everything is so green, which is delightful in a hot summer day comparing to Hungary where everything is so dry by now. The accomodation is great, comfy room, nice bathroom and all is very clean. Heather, the house lady is doing a great job to manage everything: from cleaning the house (and the 2 huge jacuzzis in the garden) through preparing the wedding till managing the food and the bar at the wedding. She's so kind and helpful. In our dreams we'll come back one day for a great family Christmas, I can imagine how amazing it could be in this great location. Thanks Heather!!!

Just returned from a 4 night break at Deers Leap Retreat, there were a total of 19 of us with a mixture of adults and children. The owner gave us a hugely informative tour of the property and was always on hand if we needed her (which we didn't).  Outside the there was a games room available which was great on the day when the weather wasn't its best and the children absolutely loved it.  The house itself was brilliant and had everything we needed and the rooms were all super spacious.  We would definitely visit again many thanks.

We have recently returned from a week’s stay at Deer’s Leap Retreat – June 2015: we rented the farmhouse for our immediate family to stay-in, for our wedding celebrations in Devon. The house itself was exactly what we wanted and Heather and James we the perfect hosts throughout our stay: they really couldn’t do enough to cater for our needs. Nothing was too much trouble. 

Each room including all bedrooms & bathrooms were spotless on our arrival; we were also very pleasantly surprised by the high tech facilities available including a rain shower and hot tub lit by fairy-lights at night!  We even received a welcome hamper on our arrival. You really do get treated very well at Deer’s Leap. None of the family wanted to leave, and we are already planning our next visit with them soon.

I have just returned from a brilliant weekend at Deer's Leap for a Stag Do. Myself and the rest of our party were all delighted with all the on site facilities. Heather and family were all very welcoming and went far beyond the levels of service that any of us would expect. The bedrooms were all spacious and there was plenty of room for us all to relax. The games room is absolutely massive!! I honestly could not recommend anywhere better.

The cottage is really lovely, very remote, quiet and peaceful 
On arrival we were greeted by the beautiful Poppy  who shown us to the cottage!
The cottage is nice and clean and cosy, and has plenty of amenities including tea and coffee and squash for the kids, 
the bath is huge
The hot tub again is massive and was lovely and warm on arrival ready to jump in and relax
The only 1 problem we had during the stay was the mattress on the bed which we found very uncomfortable.

Please be aware Deer’s leap is very remote with the nearest shops around 20 mins drive away, we did a little shopping for drinks and snacks before arriving and would recommend to anyone else to do this 

The roads leading to and from Deer’s leap are very narrow so make sure to drive carefully

All in all we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend staying here

Daughters Wedding

Superb and loved by all

My daughter got married here yeaterday. Overall not too bad but it spoilt the whole experience by the proprietor ringing me up to discus some isses my wife and myself had, at 10.150pm.
We were on our annual holiday and went to Devon in our motorhome, for our holiday and daughters wedding. Taking with us our 2 small dogs. Shih-tzu and a mini Maltese.
When the prop phoned me at that time of night I was very annoyed. She went on to tell me that my dogs are not welcome on site. Yet they appear on a lot of dog freindly sites. Very hypocritical in my opinion. She also went on to tell me in no uncertain terms again that I could not bring my motorhome onto site. This is all designed, so you will pay them extortionate ammounts of money to stay in their accommodation.
The place is right out in the boonies, no proper road as such and only a single track road all round. Not mentioned anywhere on  thier website.
If you drive anything over 6.6 wide forget it.
Drinks are very expensive at the bar and no draught beer at all. All bottles.
I darent look at my bank balance as one round of 2 drinks cost me £12 for 2 beers.
The place is smoke and mirrors thing. Everything made to look fantastic but when you peel back the glam its a nothing.
My daughter paid a fortune to have her day there. I recommend that you dont. Theres far more better places with better acces. without a fanatical proprietor.
