Decided to go for a meal out with the in-laws. The wife and mother-in-law had the lasagne and garlic bread, and father-in-law and myself had the steak pie and chips with garden peas. Couldn’t fault anything, food was very tasty and just the right amount. We followed that up with chocolate brownie  with cream. The COVID-19 safety restrictions made us feel safe with plenty of space between tables and table service, will definitely be going back. 

Family meal for 7 of us. Booked and seated dead on time. Sunday carvery lunch was fresh and very tasty. The pub is clean and tidy and Simon and Sam the owners are very friendly and helpful. Pudding was nice too. Definitely going back - to try the Mexican Night on a Tuesday!

Took my mum for a carvery for mothers day. As usual the food and service was excellent. A lovely cooked carvery. With four different meats. Four vegetables. And all the usual extras. We really enjoyed it. And had a excellent  sweet. A great choice. Although it was very for mothering Sunday. The service was excellent. Would recommend. 

Bay Horse special  on a Friday is  Fish and Chips although the main menu is also available, we decided on the fish which was delicious, batter lovely and crisp, chips perfect, as was the mushy peas, all cooked to order so was very hot, served with fresh bread and butter.  We had pots of tea,  all served with a smile and a welcome atmosphere , I truly couldn't fault a thing,

We have visited this lovely Pub a few times as we have friends who live in the village

Stopped for Sunday Lunch and the food and service was exceptional once again.

It was very busy even at 12.30 ! but we had booked a table. We were able to go to the Buffet Carvery and served by a very amusing chef, I had roast beef, which melted in your mouth, Crisp Yorkshires, Veg very good choice, Help yourself and lots and lots of delicious gravy. The veg were cooked to perfection, I didn't have room for dessert but the rest of the table did and they looked really tempting and everyone cleared their plates.

The price is so reasonable. In fact cheap for such a excellent meal.

Hosts could not do enough

Waiting staff all very attentive and very professional

Yes we will be back for lunch on our next visit to friends.

Sunday Lunch Fantastic

Super food. Great service. Very helpful staff

We called in at bay horse on the off chance for Sunday lunch. We was given a table no problem as they was not very busy . The staff was polite and friendly .  I will start by saying the meat was nice beef, pork, turkey , ham,. Then it went down hill small dryad out frozen roast potatoes , small frozen Yorkshire pudding . I think the stuffing balls was frozen as well. The veg savoy cabbage, carrots they did seem fresh . What i thought to be mash, turned out to cauliflower cheese. I think for what they are charging they need to up there game with home cooked fresh food. It is such a shame as it is a lovely country,   pub with a large dining aria . Will not be returning.

Just had lunch here (if you can call it that!)

We ordered steak pie and chips with veg. I could tell immediately that the pie had been microwaved. The pastry was soft and a thick layer of solid, dry meat was stuck underneath it, resulting in an unappetizing and inedible offering. I questioned the barman/waiter/cook and he confirmed that HE had in fact microwaved it but that there was a new pie which he could serve. This came out after obviously being microwaved, accompanied by my fries which were soft and awful, tepid, frozen veg.
 
If this place cannot serve a simple meal of fresh steak pie with chips, then it shouldn't be on the menu. Having food microwaved is certainly a no-no for me.
If this is an example of  the best quality food this place can serve at lunchtimes, then it should not bother!
