Booked dinner on last day of a wonderful holiday in the Lake District. Restaurant lived up to expectations. Friendly efficient staff following Covid regulations. Meal was beautifully cooked on nice warm plates, menu selection was good although we would have liked a wider fish selection.

Views allll around. Because of the balcony it made the stay so fresh. The bed was so so comfortable. Warm and a really good eco shower that i also have at home. Great sleep. Lovely wildlife arpund the hotel xx

Middle Ruddings offers accommodation, bar and restaurant. Locally produced ales are available and are kept well. This Inn is dog friendly but it is possible to eat in the conservatory which is pet free. The staff are friendly, attentive and efficient. We ate here on two occasions during a three night bed and breakfast break and we were not disappointed.

Came for a week's walking and it was surprising how much we did considering we had daily "whiteouts". Staff friendly, great service, welcoming bar, lounge and dining areas. Food range looks quite limited at first but good addition of daily specials. Beer great (Good Beer Guide 2020 entry!). Rooms warm (but not overheated!) and comfortable. Shower a bit wimpy, some public areas a bit shabby but we were told a refurbishment is planned and there was some redecoration while we were there. Overall we enjoyed our stay, good value for money and would have been even better if we'd had better weather (but that didn't stop us having full daysout!)

Staff were very friendly with great service, food was the best I’ve had in a long time. Lovely tender meat and the staff were so welcoming and helpful towards us. It is also dog friendly. Overall a great place to eat.

The ambience created by the owners and staff make this a real gem.  This must have been our 10th visit and Tom, Andy and team make it such a friendly and welcoming experience.   Listen to Tom talk about beer, hospitality or his home made sausages for just 2 minutes and you’ll know the passion and personal pride that goes into running this place.   The building is in keeping with the area and the team encourage guests to enjoy themselves at their own pace, whatever that might be.  Great location, staff, food and beer.  Thank you

Visited here with our husky on a Saturday evening. We didnt stay here just went for the
meal.We prebooked a table in the bar area.We had salmon and chicken dishes which
were delicious and not expensive either. Service was great too and there was a friendly
atmosphere and had a real enjoyable evening.

Our twelfth visit and quality of food and drink remain consistently good . Evening meals were even better than usual . Some excellent ale behind the bar and a good selection of gins and malts .
Service remains very good with friendly, obliging , knowledgable staff.
The rooms maybe dated but are comfortable and relaxing .The lounge is great to sit and relax after a meal.
Position if the hotel is also great for walking and exploring .

We stayed here for 4 nights on our trip to England. The staff at the hotel were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent. They were very accommodating when we needed a lunch prepared for an early morning departure. Definitely would stay there again.

Booked this a little last minute for a weekend away. It's a 4 minute drive outside of Keswick just off the main road near Braithwaite. 
We checked in around 6.30pm. Our room was overlooking the side of the hotel which still had great views. 
The room was lovely and spacious with a good size bathroom. Lots of tea/coffee, etc. 
Due to the current situation we said we wouldn't have housekeeping, but we just popped down to reception for more supplies when we needed it.
We decided to eat in the hotel as it looked really nice. We sat in the dining room and ordered a vegetable tempura and a pate with toast for starters, two sirloin steaks for mains and two bottles of red wine, which was really good and excellent service. The total was £82.
In the morning, we had full English, which again was excellent service.
All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. 
We would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Lovely meals.

I stayed here for 4 nights the hotel had just been taken over by the owners who had previously leased it out. The staff are probably the best I have met , friendly, very efficient and 
Dedicated to there hotel. 
The hotel is about to be renovated, however it is very clean , and the food is cooked to order and very fresh and local.
Choices at breakfast to suit everyone, good menu for evening meal, good size portions and full of flavour.
This is one hotel I will return to once the changes have been completed.

wonderful staff 

The photos on the site are out of date and look a bit gloomy but the rooms are fine actually. The hotel is a bit dated but it's immaculately clean throughout. Braithwaite is about 45 minute walk into Keswick, or a 5 minute drive. We stayed in a family room, ensuite with a bath, no shower but we were informed of that when we booked. 
The breakfast was delicious, as was the evening meal. The lounge and bar were also nice. Yes it does need updating but because it was so clean that didn't matter. Plenty outdoor seating with gorgeous views too.
The staff were great and very welcoming, particularly Tom & Linda.

Will definitely return! Great for families.

Excellent service and food

A wet and cold week in Feb

Stayed on business for two nights. Staff very welcoming. Single bedroom was adequate with hot shower and courtesy tray. Small TV had seen better days, had to retune to get any channels and volume down only worked when pressing volume up!! Good bar and lounge. Plenty of room. Fabulous breakfast well presented and perfectly cooked to order. Just off A66 visible from road easy to find.

My favourite place in the Lakes

We stayed at middle ruddings after a day out walking helvelynn. The reception upon arrival from Tom was warm and friendly. 

Our room could be described as a bit tired looking but it was quiet, the bed was huge and comfy and the room itself was a decent size.

We enjoyed a variety of beers on offer all of which were superb, the home made bbq sausages were also top notch.

Our home cooked evening meal we also difficult to fault as was the cooked breakfast which really was superb. 

We had a dinner bed and breakfast deal which on reflection was really good value, combined with the friendly staff and lovely warm atmosphere we enjoyed our stay.
