Great night's stay with Gill at Rockingham Lodge. Careful of the sat. nav. directions, there are some very small windy lanes around the village. Warm welcome. Great room, No. 2, all you need for a night's stop-over. Lovely cooked breakfast to see us on our way.

We just spent two nights at Rockingham Lodge and can't rate it highly enough. Gill is a fantastic hostess, and the accommodation far exceeded our expectations. I can honestly say I have never slept so well as I did in the King Size bed in room 3 - proper feather pillows and duvet. The ensuite bathroom was spacious and modern with a very good shower with shower gel and shampoo provided. The kettle and tea and coffee facilities in the room were also very good and 'topped up' for us whilst we were out. There is a useful guide of place to eat and visit in the room. Gill recommended 'The Star', a pub about 100 yards away and it was a very good recommendation indeed - well worth a visit.  Back in Rockingham Lodge we also made use of the cosy and very comfortable guest lounge and the Wi-Fi. The breakfast, which you order the night before at a time to suit your schedule, was plentiful, tasty and cooked to perfection!  This place is a real gem.
Would we stay here again? YES, YES, YES!

We booked 2 nights at the rockingham lodge, GIll welcomed us on arrival and was a great host, very welcoming. The room was great, comfortable, spacious, ensuite was good too. Gill puts information on local places, pubs and where to eat. Breakfast we ordered night before. overall Tideswell is a lovely place and a good base location for the peak district.  Would thoroughly reccommend Rockingham Lodge.

Tideswell is the perfect base for a visit to the Peaks, and Rockingham Lodge was a great place to stay. All the furnishings in the room were of a very high standard, A comfortable bed with luxurious sheets to relax in after a day walking and a fantastic breakfast to start your day. And reasonably priced too.
Couldn't ask for more.

Went to visit some friends in the area and they were recommended we check into the Rockingham Lodge. Gill was very easy to communicate with ahead of our check-in (our train was coming in later than check-in time!) and was lovely when we arrived. We had the continental breakfast one morning served to our room and the next morning had a hot breakfast downstairs in the breakfast room. Gill was a delight to talk to and we had a great stay.

Had a lovely 3 days stay situated in the heart of the Peak District in the quaint  village Tideswell a great base to get to all the main attractions and great walks the village has several pubs serving great food . Gill is a lovely host very welcoming easygoing and informative the room was very big clean and a nice view of the village plenty of room for our dog Bonnie too fantastic cooked breakfast which set us up for a days walking We would definitely book again thanks again Gill

Another wonderful trip to Tideswell at Rockingham Lodge which is still fabulous. Accommodates us and our dog with a small patio area at the back for a breath of fresh air if you don't want to go far.
Great facilities and welcome from Gill as usual. Only issue was the TV which did not have many stations to view but that only meant we watched the rugby in the pub on Saturday so not a hardship at all! So pleased the Star is up and running again and that nothing else changes in this wonderful part of the Peak District. Can thoroughly recommend our self catering apartment which had everything we needed.

My Brother and I stayed at Rockingham  Lodge for 3 nights while we saw a few of the local sights by motorcycle. 

The room was of good size and cleanliness was to a high standard. The room facilities were excellent. The beds were perfectly comfortable. 

Gill, the hostess, greeted us in a warm and friendly manner and served a lovely breakfast which was pre ordered the evening before.

After my motorbike suffered a malfunction, Gill allowed me to book out later than expected so I could await recovery. A gesture which was greatly appreciated.

Just home from a lovely three night stay at Rockingham lodge. Bedroom was spacious large bed and clean modern bathroom. Room looks out onto the square and for us city dwellers the peace was wonderful! 
Gill is very friendly and welcoming gave us advice on places to go for dinner locally, and cooked us a lovely breakfast each morning!
The room has a welcome book with lots of suggestions of places to visit, we got through quite a few during our stay! Tideswell has lots of shops and we stayed during the Tidza Wakes celebrations which was great. It's a good base for visiting lots of places in the Peak District.

Would definitely recommend Rockingham Lodge for anyone visiting the Peak District.

Just got back from a lovely stay at Rockingham Lodge. We had a large room with a big and very comfy bed, nice en-suite facilities (including complimentary toiletries) and also bottled water, tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel is well situated just a couple of minutes walk from the pubs and restaurants in Tideswell. Gill was very friendly and makes a great breakfast which you select the evening before so is freshly prepared for you in the morning at the time of your choosing. We would recommend and stay again.

Two night stay

We stayed at Rockinham Lodge for three nights when visiting the area for a family get together. The rooms were large and we had sole access to a guest lounge which opened out onto an enclosed patio area. This made everything very homely as we could all relax together rather than just returning to our rooms after being out all day. Gill was very helpful by providing advice on places to go and where to eat in the evenings.
We completed our breakfast request each day for the following morning which meant we could vary our choice rather than having the same thing every morning. More importantly it meant breakfast was always freshly prepared and Gill even brought in porridge especially for one of our party.
There was a slight issue with the free WiFi as the signal dropped occasionally but Gill explained that this could have been easily rectified if we had let her know at the time.
Overall Rockingham Lodge is very comfortable and Tideswell is a picturesque and excellent base for walking and touring the surrounding countryside.
