We went for a 50th birthday and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and evening in a friendly homely bar/restaurant.the staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs.
We will return soon.thank you all.handy parking at the back of the pub made life easier

Returned here again last week of September 24  for another stay . The Hosts are so welcoming and the rooms are so comfortable, with all accessories you need . 
Our breakfast in the morning was amazing , too much food and they have a fabulous menu for dining in later . All staff & locals very friendly. 
A big Thankyou for puting us up at such short notice and we will return again soon .

Although we couldn't park in the car park there is one at the back of the pub very cheap. The pub itself was a popular old fashioned one with wonderful staff we had booked two rooms for the night and after checking out the huge reasonable menu decided to have our evening meal there we were amazed with the food. Our rooms were perfect the staff showed us all fire exits as a precaution spot on, beds very really comfortable large room with nice size bathroom. Breakfast was definitely the best we had had in a long time we all had full English with plenty of toast  and cereals if wanted. Looking forward to a return visit

A party of 10 visited for Easter Sunday lunch.  We all ordered roast dinners which all came out the same time and were hot.  There was plenty of meat and vegetables which were cooked perfectly.
Excellent price, quality and the staff were very nice that looked after us.
Highly recommended.

Quite simply brilliant! We arrived after a 15 mile walk from Salisbury, tired and sweaty. Pub is a cozy, old fashioned style pub but the restaurant menu has a Polish twist and we had a delicious meal with super service before collapsing into lovely comfy beds in a clean room overlooking the high street. Massive breakfast with the same lovely level of service as before. Not a single thing that wasn't great. One of the best places I have stayed in a long while !

We had lunch here mid June and the sun was shining, so having a little dog, we chose a table outside under the parasol's but had to go inside as one of our group, recovering from cancer, couldn't sit with the sun coming between the parasol arrangement.  The staff were very accommodating and showed us to a table on the other side where dogs are accepted.   Food was excellent and the staff very anxious to please.  Will definitely go back here again.  Although there is a car park it seems to be permanently closed and one has to use the paying car park accessed from the rear or the pub.

Great place to eat after a day down by the river.Easy walking distance from carpark and river. Menu is good for families or couples.The sweet chilli cabbage and horseradish are a lovely accompaniment to the Roast Beef. Puddings are a must as is the cheese and biscuits . There is a quaint garden out the back , very dog friendly too. Never miss the opportunity to drop into The Ship Inn when in Fordingbridge🥰

My husband and I stayed one night in room 4 which overlooked the flower filled pub garden. Such a pretty room, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large, with an over the bath electric shower.  Thought had been put into all the little details to make our stay a pleasant one. Fluffy towels,  extra pillows, bottles of water, great hot beverage area, biscuits and sweets. Even a charging cube by each side of the bed!. 

The landlady is so lovely and we were made to feel so welcome by even the locals. Cuddles in the beer garden with one of the regulars dog called Lucky was wonderful. The breakfast selection the next day was outstanding. We visit this area regularly to see family and we will definitely be booking again. A gem of a pub and place to stay at such a reasonable price.

Only a 1 night stay, based in the middle of the town, but will definitely return in the future.

A friendly welcome which took us into a spotlessly clean room. The rooms were spacious and all the facilities you required. 

Bed was comfortable and room warm. The full breakfast was just superb! Highly recommended.

Myself & 5 family members had lunch on Easter Sunday. My traditional roast was plentiful & tasty. Everyone else ordered different dishes both from the menu & the extensive specials board & enjoyed their meal. The service from the staff was friendly & efficient. I live very local so have eaten here several times before but not reviewed, no excuse as to why not. Would definitely recommend, well worth a visit to eat here.

Stayed at The Ship over the Jubilee holiday, really enjoyed our stay here , our room was Lovely, spacious, with a TV , free Wi-Fi and a kettle with condiments including sweets . Breakfast was amazing , so much & red hot. The young schoolgirl serving us was so chatty jolly & helpful. The barman that checked us in , think it was Sean? Was charming & very friendly- Thankyou . 
Our only gripe was the parking , plenty room in the car back at the back of the Beer garden , but at £1 an hour from 08am , it can soon all mount up . Could not understand why there was plenty empty spaces in the actual Ship car park - but you were not allowed to use it & had the gate shut . Plus a bit wary of leaving your car in a public car park when you don’t know the area. 
We would revisit The Ship again & The Crown next door , and loved Fordingbridge, lovely little village .

Made to feel extremely welcome before even sat down. Food was very good value and delicious. Polly Dog also made to feel welcome. Nothing too much trouble. Proper local fresh food and generous portions. The egg yolks were orange the vegetarian option I had was an unusual but inspired idea. Fried potatoes topped with garlic mushrooms then frined egg topped with swiss cheese & generous side salad

What a Gem!

Only spent one night at the Ship Inn, but it was so lovely. 
On arrival we were greeted by some really friendly bar staff, all wearing face findings, who showed us to our really clean room, covered in covid-19 information posters, which was reassuring. The only issue with the room was the loud noise from the toilet every time water was run, but other than that, noise wasn't really a problem. 
In the morning I had beans on toast with orange juice for breakfast and there was a large selection of cereals, spreads for toast and teas. This was all at no extra cost, and served by a delightful waitress.
If ever looking to stay in/just outside of the New Forest, I would definitely recommend!
