Ladywell House B&B

Researching my family tree has led me to many places I’ve never heard off. I found my great great grandmother was born in Hamsterley in Durham near Bishop Auckland. I set about visiting it and found there is a Hamsterley Forest nearby with many walks and activities. Looking around for a place to stay I found Ladywell House B &B on tripadvisor and we are so happy that we made the choice to stay there. The accommodation is first class. Lynne is very welcoming with a pot of tea and delicious warm scones. We stayed in Room 2. Lovely view overlooking the valley and everything we could need for an over night stay. We ate our evening meal in the Cross Keys pub a short walk away. The breakfast Lynne prepared for us was very tasty and plentiful with the bacon, sausages and eggs from their own free range pigs and hens. This is a great place to stay to walk, bike or car tour the surrounding area. Weardale and Teesdale are beautiful areas and quieter than our home dales in Yorkshire. We would highly recommend staying at Ladywell House and hope the next time we stay it will be for longer.
