We have stayed in this hotel for the past six years, usually in April. Our last visit, was on the April 2016, and I was very disappointed this time.

Gone are the days of a well stocked mini bar, that even offered a fantastic bottle of Rioja.

Now the place is untidy, and unloved.

The staff are still friendly and the rooms are barely OK now.
We stayed in room 16 and the TV buzzed and crackled, the air con was poor and the ceiling fan did not work. Lights did not work because broken bulbs had not been replaced.

The main foyer, is now a complete shambles, and in need of a big tidy up.

This place is no longer charming, quaint. The list is endless.........................

Untidy and Unloved- Big Shame

This is definitely not a family destination hotel. Located close to the Udon male "single scene" with many bars close by. Many rooms rented by hourly rate if that tells you anything. On a positive note, there are some nice eateries within walking distance, i.e. Little Italian restaurant only 200 hundred meters away.

Long overdue for a major refurbishing

I booked a room here and arrived from Khon Kaen to be told (eventually) that there was no room available. They said that someone had decided to stay an extra night.

Now I understand that these things happen but the hotel should have contacted me to tell me there was a problem - a quick email would have allowed me to make other arrangements. 

They said they'd bring me to another hotel and really couldn't see what the issue was and couldn't wait to get me off the premises. 

Incompetence and rudeness, a winning combination!

very kind owner and staff, good price for a very big and well furnished Deluxe Room and we had a basic but quality breakfast included in the price.

Lovely!

The staff is absolutely fantastic. Extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast was great as well. The room was huge with a giant bed, a small bar area, desk and separate bathroom. Uniquely decorated, it was definitely funky. It featured floor to ceiling windows, multiple chairs and a big comfy sofa chair. AC was cold, shower nice and hot. Near a big market and not too far from the mall. Didn't love: Lots of black mold in bathroom and in an area with a ton of "karaoke" bars (red light district).

Cool place

I spent two nights at the Udon Star Palace Hotel and am thrilled! It doesn't look very attractive from the know, but the room was spicy. It was 45 square meters very large, had a large window (up to the ground floor), a comfortable bed and several mirrors, one of which is huge across the bed. The hotel is at the end of a street with various bars, where you can have a drink and meet Thai women. The train station is fast to reach, as well as the bus station. Shopping is best at the mall, which you can reach in 5 minutes on foot. Food can be easily found (like anywhere else in Thailand). The staff was very friendly. I had 850 baht/n and the hotel was immediately booked and the hotel was re-booked.

Great rooms in a central location

From the outside it's very nice but then it's off.....great interior with lots of antiques and pictures, very nice reception and then the highlight: the 45m2 big room with lots of caches, big mirrors... just unique!!!! The price for this very nice accommodation is sensational: 850Bath including breakfast. Free airport service, WIFI including.The owner speaks Thai, French, German, English and is very helpful in terms of trips, good restaurants.

A little different

Transfer airport hotel insured, friendly welcome around a drink offered by the boss who speaks French- Great nice room that comes out of the ordinary and super breakfast The hotel staff is adorable.

Good quality price ratio

The rooms are spacious, bright with the complementary accessories that distinguish the small from the big. The decoration is an exquisite thread, different for each room. Nothing to do with the monotony of the industrial luxury of the hotel groups. It's much better! There's also a sports hall. It's a small intimate hotel that comes out of the lot. The Little Pearl

We were 4..All the rooms were different and not at the same price.So the choice_Price varies from single to triple!!The boss is super antipathetic_His wife tai and the staff adorable!I had a room at 1350 TBH it's ARNAQUE!In quality price it's super bad especially no pool..fitness room with 2 devices that made my soul in 1900!!
