We planned to make a stopover in Muak Lek and first had a look at some resorts further down road 2089, i.e. some 10 to 15km off the "highway" (Mitthaphap Rd). These were either closed (low-season) or too expensive for what they looked like. We drove back to the town of Muak Lek and noticed the Pruksa Resort (no English sign, only in Thai !). Parking space in front of the hotel. Friendly staff at reception (no english though ...) 550THB for a dbl standard room. Very clean room & bathroom. Flatscreen TV, airco, fridge with mini-bar (at moderate prices). I only had a problem with the WIFI, which I could not connect to my tablet or my laptop. It did connect with my wife's phone though. Troubleshooting suggested I should disconnect my Firewall ... . The resort has no restaurant, but there is an excellent Thai-food place just 300m down the road (in the direction of the village). They're open till 9pm. Excellent place for a stopover at a very good price !
