1999 Bed and Breakfast

It’s nice when I can leave a 5 star review without any reservations at all. 1999 excels in every way. The location is good, lots of restaurants nearby. It’s about a mile from the railway station, taxis are plentiful and the cost is 130 (£3GBP). Hualien itself was bigger and busier than I imagined, not masses to do for tourists other than the awesome trip to Taroko National Park. We received a warm welcome. The staff speak good English and although not in the hotel 24/7 you can Whats app them which suited us fine. The staff help with a map and trips. They recommended the bus to Taroko which was great value and also some nice eating places. The star of the show was the lady who cooked breakfast and also did the rooms, she was so friendly and happy- thank you. The room had everything we needed such as fridge, free bottled water, kettle, coffee, great air con, TV and good Wi-fi. It was spotlessly clean. There is a washing machine that guests can use free of charge. The bathroom had a great shower (you don’t need to stand in the bath to use it - all will come clear when you see it. Room service was daily and thorough. Breakfast was the best we had all holiday. Yes it was different but in a nice way. Some weird (to the UK) combinations worked well and tasted delicious. Highly recommend.
