From the time we walked through the gates Maratree was awesome! After a couple of upsetting days in Hikkadua, we decided to move north up Galle road. The decision had us staying at Maratree for 3 nights in Bentota. The grounds were amazing. The owner was sweet and spoke many languages. Very happy with our stay!

we stayed for 10 days in Feb 2015...From the moment we entered we knew we were in a very special place :) We were greeted and treated like old friends...What Erika did not know about the area was not worth knowing. Erika is the go to guy...whether it be recommending good restaurant or a tailor made suit! Breakfast was well prepared and different...We were well looked after by the house dog's Tashi and Olga. Very fond memories of the wonderful gardens, tea on the veranda and the morning and evening temple calls to prayer...very close to the road so extremely easy to get a Tuk Tuk! Erika spoiled us would thoroughly recommend Maratree Love Ant and Chrissy xo

We have chosen the place cause it was not to far from Colombo, to pass few days after our arrival and rest for a while. And it was a great choice! The owner Erica, is very friendly, funny person with who we felt like staying at family. She helped us useful information sand with planing the rest of out trip. In this place you have no feeling of pansion, it is more like a huge house, with inner garden, beautiful tropical plants everywhere around - real oasis! The breakfast was great - traditional one and she gave her best to offer us every day something new from local kitchen to taste and to adapt it to our needs (we are vegans). The room are very charming, clean and like the rest of property made with a lot of taste! Just few minutes of walking there is very nice beach, with nice restaurants and one spa center where we had an excellant massage. The price was very good! In fact, on the end of our trip we could compare it with other places and the place like that  somewhere else would be much more expensive. So, it is to recomand like great value for your money!
