Piano Guest House

After reading a few reviews we were a little anxious about what to expect from the Piano Guest House. Although the area around the guest house is a little run down and it's just off a main road, we were delighted once we were through the main door. We arrived early and the welcome was warm and friendly. The rooms weren't ready but we were offered coffee & cake and the owner made every effort to look after us. The rooms were spacious and en suite. The furnishing were appropriate for the age and style of the house. No cheap Ikea or modern stuff to be seen. The breakfast is like a banquet and every effort is made to make you feel "at home". We received some fantastic help from the owners son in helping us book a trip to Auschwitz. We would not have been able to go without his help as we hadn't pre-booked. The location is a good 20 minute walk from the city but it's pretty straight forward once you get your bearings. The owner provided us with a map which helped. It was fantastic to be able to park for free as parking in the city centre is a nightmare. Driving isn't easy in the Krakow area as the roads are massive and full of traffic. Drivers were friendly and accommodating though. The wifi was excellent/fast and could be accessed throughout the house. If we go back to Krakow we would definitely stay there again. A real authentic Polish experience.
