Where do I start. This is not a nice hotel. I actually don’t have any positives except location it’s pretty central but that’s all it has going for it. The hotel stinks, cheap ikea furniture that looks second hand, the floor is more comfy than the bed, the stairs are like ladders, the roof leaks, hot water doesn’t work along with the heating so it’s really cold. The owners are not very nice people either. They are never there and talk down to there guests. They think coz it’s the only hotel in zierikzee they can do what they want but they can’t. There is a town called goes about a 15 minute drive away it has way more hotels that are actually nice with nice people who run them. I’d go there any day than go back here. Just burn the place down it’s all it’s worth.

Terrible hotel with terrible people who run it. During my stay the owners called me a racist and a sexist two things I am not. Also the owners don’t know me well enough to call me those names. Terrible hotel terrible owners would stay here if you payed me. Roof leaks hotel stinks. I’d go somewhere else if I was you x

We enjoyed staying here, the price was good, and the atmosphere was suitable for a holiday at the sea. Those who spend most of the day outdoors enjoy the clean room and can overlook the size of the room.

Charming and pleasant hotel which has retained its typical character in an old mansion. Although the hallways are narrow, the rooms are cozy and comfortable. The hotel's owner is very friendly and helpful.

Charming hotel in Zealand

Stayed here for 2 nights while on buisness.
My first couple of points must be the hotel is spottlessly clean with not a speck of dirt anywhere. Also it is postioned well just away from the town centre a short walk from all the resturants, cafes and bars.

Unfortuantly these are the only positives.
The rooms are small and functional but very very basic i.e no tea or coffee faclitlies avalaible. The furintiure is simple consisting of bed, chair, TV and tall book case but no wardrobe just a couple of hooks with hangers for you clothes.??? We had 3 rooms between us and there was not a plug in any of the sinks. 

The stairs have been mentioned in other reviews for being steep and thin but this is well understated. It was more like walking up and down a step ladder. Luckly my room was on the first floor but going up and down just this single flight was hair rasing. I really do not think this would suit someone with small children as you would panic every time they went up and down the stairs.

The staff were pleasent when we arrived and left but this was the only time we saw anyone, there was never a soul to be seen, hence the poor service rating.

Breakfast was minimal, with a small selection of bread, meat and cheese. We had nice boiled eggs the first morining but the second day there was burnt scrambled egg in a shot glass. Truely awful. 

I agree with another reviewer comparing this to being more like an hostel, but unfortuantly the high prices do not reflect the hostel type experience,.

Clean Hotel but very lacking for price paid.

This hotel is so nice.We liked everything. Hotel is run by lovely people.Rooms are small but cozy and location is great.Its reasonable price for a Rooms. We loved breakfast.Buffet is simple but really no one need more. Definetly good place to stay for a young couples.

Great small hotel

One night stay whilst on cycling holiday-pretty much only hotel in small town so captive audience-on checking in key was left under a shell outside front door (owner telephoned earlier to advise this) as owner presumably had other things to do than welcome paying guests ( large festival in town during our visit resulted in virtually every person we met being drunk)
Steep steps,tiny room,flimsy flat pack furniture ( no wardrobe -room 4) and thin mattresses,lumpy pillows-tiny bathroom with sliding door and only a vanity basin as a sink
Room faced onto street which was noisy (maybe unusually so because of the festival)
Bikes were OK locked to metal railings opposite but wouldn't have been too impressed in wet weather
Wifi login screen suggested password had to be obtained in person from reception-as no member of staff was present during our entire stay ( until checkout) this rendered wifi unusable
Raised this at checkout and was told password was actually on a sticker near the TV but we'd left the room by then so don't know if that's the case-no reason to doubt the lady but it was definitely well hidden
More like a hostel than a hotel and I would not return

Scruffy and inhospitable

We stayed two nights in October at the Zierikzee Hotel. We chose it based on its favourable regional situation as part of our trip. This hotel is very well situated, but its comfort is limited. The rooms are small and poorly furnished, breakfast is not good. The main problem we encountered is the dizzying staircase, almost a ladder, that leads to the rooms. It is a hotel with limited accessibility due to this alone fact, and this staircase is not only very difficult to climb, especially with luggage, but also dangerous, especially when descending.

Beware of Accessibility

The hotel is well situated in the old centre, but easily accessible, with a private parking lot just across the street. A particularly steep staircase, even in the Netherlands; small rooms with unequal facilities: a flat screen TV, free wifi but no closet (2 cents and 3 hooks), no soap in the bathroom (but shampoo and a shower gel), daily towels changed, heating (night) burning, while the environment is very quiet. Small proper lunches. It looks more like a guest room than a hotel.

Well placed, spacious rooms.

This small hotel in Zierikzee presents itself as a small boat with well-equipped cabins (Ikea style), on two floors but with some difficulty in reaching them (two steep staircase ramps that lead us to recommend this hotel to young or old in shape and with few baggage).
