Hotel Totem Guadalajara

I began my trip here and I ended my trip here, because the service was so nice. Everything was within walking distance. So many restaurants are nearby: tacos, fruit liquados, Chinese food. There was a plaza nearby with a nice church that I went to. As a woman traveling alone I felt really comfortable here. They also serve a regular breakfast with chilequines ( it wasn't that tasty) you can also buy Continental breakfast.

Great service, you do have to leave your key each time you leave the room.

Super easy to everything. Super nice and friendly staff. I dont like the A/C after few hours drop water. I know is normal but not in the middle of the walking area. Separate from that all is great. I recommended !!!

Staff were excellent, kind and courteous. Hotel is in excellent location and walking distance to a lot of restaurants and churches and museums and other city highlights.

Is located in downtown and very close to shopping and walk....

I had a great experience stayed for a week and liked it so much i stayed another week in total two weeks the manager was amazing Alejandra, Mauricio were exceptional great service and friendly staff. Only inconvenience was one staff that would give me a hard time an elderly woman with glasses by the name of guadalupe.. dont know why but she would be rude and made unnecessary remarks towards me and my family. She was the only inconvenience personally but i just ignored her. Besides that overall a great experience.  The cathedral is 6 minutes away walking distance food everywhere, stores and even bars and night clubs near the area. Would definitely recommend

I stay started out a bit rocky. On the first day when we arrived we were given a very dark room. It had no natural light coming in other than from the inside of the hotel and the ceiling light were very dim. Once we settled in,  I asked the front desk concierge why there were no drinking glasses or cups in our room and if I could have two glasses. She said that was not possible. I asked her why... there was a restaurant in the hotel.  She again repeated that it was not possible. I have never been in a hotel that did not have at least plastic cups in the room. So I went out and located a store to purchased two drink glasses.  I also bought a bottle of wine and a corkscrew.  The front desk did not have a wine opener. It got better the next day. We were relocated to a room on the first level that was spacious and sunny and made a world of difference. The staff redeemed themselves with their friendliness and service. They were extremely helpful and always greeted us with a smile and also fixed our TV which was a huge deal for us. The location is really good. There's hustle and bustle and beautiful squares and lots of restaurants and I would not hesitate to return to Hotel Totem.

A pleasant stay

The staff is THE BEST! Felt safe at all times! Close to tons of cathedrals, including the main Catedral de Guadalajara. We used Uber, but I know there were tons of public transportation options super close by. The bathroom was a great size and the air conditioner came in super handy given these warm days! Bring ear plus if you’re a light sleeper (it didn’t affect me, but I know there’s a night club right across the street…and the music can go ‘til 8am!).I’d stay here again for sure!

The staff was attentive & friendly. They let us check-in 1 hr. earlier. The TV was huge. Wooden-like Tile floor. Beautiful 6 feet body mirror. Rain shower head. Their breakfast was very good for $120 pesos (Eggs, beans, chilaquiles, a small glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, a bread bun, coffee [de la olla= with cinnamon & sweeten with piloncillo]. The hotel is near most attractions of the city. There’s also American coffee. A bakery in the corner. A 7-eleven in the opposite corner. Coffee shops 3 blocks away & also restaurants. A lot of places to shop for clothing, shoes, & musical instruments. Room 208 was quiet, in a corner. There are 2 beautiful, old churches nearby, but the bells can be heard, as they were very far away. Everything was good in the hotel, except the beds’ frames made a lot of noise. One of the 3 nights, there was a poor connection to cable tv, so the image & sound will go off. Toilet & sink facing too closely. The shower’s water makes a puddle in half of the floor. We will go back, but we’ll ask for another floor.

We liked the hotel however it was lacking a fridge in the room or an ice machine. There was a lot of late night noise with people slamming their doors. Otherwise its a good place to stay for the cost.
