Sittnerhof

I recently stayed a week in a one-bed apartment. I booked through the Sittnerhof website and all arrangements, including check-in and check-out, were handled in a very friendly and efficient way. Sittnerhof is a nice combination of historic (the original buildings, the Stube) and modern (the accommodation itself). The apartment is well-designed and well-equipped with a large bathroom and good shower; spacious and comfortable. Even in mid-April the weather was warm and sunny and so I was glad to have a terrace which had the sun until late and a great view of the mountains: perfect for a glass of wine in the evenings (and the Sittnerhof's own good wine is available to buy). I had the Sittnerhof breakfast on my first morning (the rest of the time I self-catered) - it was good and plentiful, with some home-made items like jams and cake. So B & B could also be a good option. There's a nice garden available for use with a pool in the summer. The owners are very friendly and helpful. It's located in a quiet area of Meran but is still convenient, being within, say, 15 minutes walking distance of the centre, the railway/bus station and the start of the Tappeinerweg. Meran itself is interesting and there's plenty to see and do in the area, including some great walks. I enjoyed my stay very much and would happily stay here again.
