Far below average compared to the other B&Bs of our trip. Lack of comfort and modernity in the room. Furniture and old equipment. The kindness of the hostess does not make us forget the poor breakfast. Do not make us want to come back.

Disappointing

We expected more for the price having read other reviews. The bed was uncomfortable & small. The room was fairly basic,dated but clean. Shower cubicle was small with iittle room to move. There was no tv or tea/coffee facilities which were available in other less expensive establishments. Hostess was very friendly and a very good breakfast was provided.

Mary is a host of unparalleled sweetness and kindness. Careful, she takes care to inquire about your breakfast preferences and guides you in planning your visits according to your fields of interest. She knows well her corner of country and a plethora of privileged places to recommend to you. In the countryside, near Tralee and other small villages that deserve to be visited, I enjoyed the tranquility of this house. The bedroom and bathroom are clean, the sheets smell wonderfully good, and the bed was very comfortable. And the smell of roses, intoxicating!

A calming and full of discoveries

Shangri-La B&B was the perfect location for our night in Tralee. 6 weeks in to a 9 week holiday, Mary's hospitality was a refreshing change of pace. The room was spotlessly clean, and the facilities adequate for our needs. Breakfast was delicious, cooked fresh. Mary was helpful with dinner  suggestions, and also advice on how to best continue our journey. The location is quiet and has lovely views from the property. We were caught out with not having cash for the payment, but this was easily sorted with a trip to a nearby ATM.

Perfect for us

The B&B is small and simple. The hosts are very friendly and open-minded. The insider tips are always worth gold. The rooms are somewhat small and simple set up but completely sufficient for overnight stays. You can order breakfast in the evening in advance and you get the typical Irish delicacies.

Travel

We're a couple from Austria and we stayed at the b&b for one night in september. The hosts are making a huge effort to make the stay as enjoyable as it could be. The room is quite small, but tidy and clean. Same thing goes for the bathroom. We had our breakfast with the other guests, which we enjoyed, because it gave us the opportunity to chat with a nice couple from the Netherlands. Accessing the b&b is rather difficult without a car. We had to take a taxi from the train station, which was only 10€, but still. The host immediatly offered us to take us back to the train station the next day, when we told her, we had to go by taxi, which was really nice. All in all a great stay and we would stay there again.

Pleasant stay!

Mary is a very friendly hostess who pecks her rosary and offers good advice on your road book. The rooms' views give either the garden and the roses or the bay of Tralee. We had rented a double room and a twin. The first one is small just like her bathroom (the sink is in the room by the way) Breakfast and bedding are correct. Access to the B&B with a wide car can seem dangerous the first time because you have to turn right and aim well under the flower arch from a road where the speed limit is set at 80 km/h. The early barking of the host dog can be a possible sleep disturbance for those who have been sleeping.

A friendly host

This B&B is really very nice. Nestled in the heart of the countryside of Kerry, it offers a real oasis of relaxation during an Irish trip. The view of our room over the ocean and the mountains was breathtaking. And what a calmness! We slept so well. Breakfast was very good with a very kind hostess. You really feel welcome in this B&B and our hostess's advice for tours was wise.

The most of this BB is the owner, so kind.. the least: small room, lack of comfort and space for suitcases. the Wi-Fi doesn't pass through the rooms (but it's free) and works well in the living room which is very nice. a little far away from everything...

We were very disappointed with our stay at Shangri La.  The room had a mouldy smell and one towel was actually dirty.  We asked for cereal at breakfast and was offered the cereal in their already used boxes. For what we paid we expected better.
