We chose to stay in Naggar in order to avoid the madness of Manali. And Soham's looked attractive. We booked a deluxe room for two nights, but due to an oversight arrived unexpected and were given a budget room on the ground floor for the first night. This room was small, sparsely furnished, poorly lit and very cold. It had no Wifi reception, and the TV didn't work. But we had great views, extra warm blankets (for a very hard bed) and hot water for a shower in the morning. 

Reception is on the top floor, so you have to climb a few flights of stairs for check-in, or if you want to dine/have breakfast at the rooftop restaurant, for that matter. On arrival we were looked after by Ricky whose English was limited, but who ran up and down the stairs to get our room ready, organise towels, soap etc., offer tea/coffee and brought down the menu, so that we could order dinner which was going to take an hour to prepare. We chose this option over a restaurant across the road and were rewarded with a delicious pizza which we consumed in a dining room where we were the only guests. Ricky reminded me a bit of Sonny of Marigold fame, he was charming and tried very hard to please.

When we came back from our visit to Manali the next day we were given a deluxe room which was miles better than the budget room for only IRP350 extra. Rates included GST and an okay continental breakfast. The deluxe room was much larger, had a seating area, a nice balcony with cane chairs to sit on and take in the views, softer beds, and some kind of heating, if I remember correctly. WiFi worked perfectly. It was the kind of room you could stay in for a few days without actually leaving it.

Naggar Castle is a 10-minute uphill walk away from the hotel, and the village itself is a long walk downhill. It's best to have your own transport if you want to stay at Soham's. I'd stay here again, in a deluxe room, but I would not recommend a budget room to anyone.

Beautiful Location and Views

We stayed at this place for 3 nights after arrive manali. The marvelous view to the highest mountain that cover with a Waite snow is great. The owner Raju and the man that run his place Riki is very service people and very kind.

The hotel's coffee, the prices are average, the portions are big, they're delicious, but they take a long time to order, especially in the evening, the view of the mountains, the friendly staff, but not always on the spot.

Soham coffee

Location: the place is an hour away from Manali. You can either stay here for a night or you can take a day to visit here from Manali. It is a small village. The hotel is farther from the market but closer to the sight seeing place. However considering it is a very small place everything is in 10 mins distance

Amenities: the hotel has clean rooms, tv, dinner table, cabinet, balcony, roof top open restaurant, guyser, hot water in basin, good views, open terrace restaurant is a USP. 

Service: service is prompt. However make sure u r very specific with your ask and not leave anything to their interpretation

Food: there are not many restaurants in the vicinity so u are forced to eat here. They serve okayish italian food. Their biryani is good. Breakfast is decent. U can either call for it in the room or go upstairs. Popular street food: Momo, Maggie, Chai

Mobile Network: Vodafone is pretty blah here. Jio works great though. 

Things to do: there is Rorerich museum and art gallery, few temples, long walks and cycling, water falls

Donkey's, Ravens, mountain birds,

Good Rooftop Dining Area

It was a wonderful experience staying in the Chateau. We reached there from Solang Valley towards the evening and was welcomed warmly by the owner. The placement of the hotel is superb. You go from Naggar town, climb a height and at a junction, you get the hotel from where, one road rises to the famous Naggar Castle and beyond and the other goes down.

We were given rooms on the top floor, only the roof remains above where the kitchen is located. Marvelous view from the room as soon as you come out to the balcony.

We reached and kept our belongings in our rooms and straightway climbed the short steep road to the Naggar castle. Also had tea at the restaurant there. Came back to the Chateau and was told by the owner that preparations for bonfire has been arranged on the roof although, not in the open but in a room with a fireplace that also serves the purpose of dinning room. Sitting on the open balcony was not possible also due to the cold. We sang and danced and enjoyed it very much. Dinner was served right there which was also very good.

In the morning next, we had our breakfast on the roof and this time in the open sitting arrangements there. And the view from the roof, oh my God!!! It was mesmerizing. We checked out for our onward journey to Kasauli.

Naggar is about one hour from Manali, about one and a half from Solang Valley and less than an hour from Kullu. It is a nice town famous mainly for the Castle and The Roerich Art Gallery. In the Chateau, one can enjoy the nature and can visit all the above places without much difficulty. But it is not an one night stay type hotel as I felt. One should stay there for 3/4 days minimum.

The Chateau with marvelous view!!

Despite its central location, it is quiet to sleep. The rooms are great, large, good beds and a very pleasant bathroom with functioning infrastructure. If you do not want to relax on the balcony of the room, the roof terrace offers an ideal place. The food is very good. The host is very nice, experienced and gives very good tips on trips on foot, by car or hiking around. A perfect place.

Best location and great host

We stayed at this place while coming back from Chandratal , We started early from Chandratal from battal , Gramphu and rohtang pass , we reached at this place in afternoon around 3 PM. The hotel is located in a beautiful place long away from city hustle and crowd of manali, but It is well connected to everything. It is on the road to Naggar castle. 

The rooms are quite big and comfortable, They have a beautiful terrace restaurant where you can enjoy the food and drinks in evening. It give a perfect view of complete valley. The serivce is also really good. Loved the food which we got an One of the best mutton I ever had, The mutton was made so delicious that that we ate atleast thrice.

A peace Hotel with Amazing food an Service

After Manali was too full, we drove to the beautiful little town of Naggar in the Kullu Valley and stayed at Raju's hotel for a week. The location is very nice, with a view of the whole valley. The rooms are tasty and clean. On the rooftop there is a nice restaurant where you can eat very tasty food (Italian and of course also North Indian). Raju, the owner of the hotel is a very interesting interlocutor, who is very knowledgeable in talking and very helpful in planning hikes. It is really worth getting to know more about the history of the region. The atmosphere in the hotel is very family friendly and friendly. Although the original Naggar is certainly more relaxing because the older architecture of Chateau Castle, which has some of the best delights and can't be relaxed in any of these days, makes Chateau's friendship with Naggar very nice.

A very pleasant hotel in Naggar

Clean, beautiful views, relatively environmentally friendly durvh solar power, which also means hot water, and a very loving, friendly family! Nearby is the residence of the Russian painter Nicholas Rohrich. You can also take a walk from the hotel directly. Or Raju, the chef, organizes a trekking tour in which he has very good experience.
