As a regular visitor to Haiti, I was getting tired of the expensive Petionville hotels with their 12 dollar rum punches so I decided to venture out and try something different. A friend suggested the Prince. My driver found this hotel in the quiet neighborhood of Pacot. Reception was welcoming and absolutely no hassle with my previous online payment. Lobby was apparently the living room of an old mansion with inlaid mahogany floors and antique furniture that was seen throughout the hotel including my room. Room was already " pre-chilled " with a split AC unit that rocked. Bar staff friendly and rhum punch one of Haiti's best. 6 dollars. Dinner menu selections varied and inexpensive. Great soup joumou and poulet djon djon- 6 and 12 dollars respectively , best I can recall. ( rhum punch lol) Bartender kind enough to store my cheese overnite and was there at 6 am to hand it back so I could catch my flight to Cap Haitien. No surprise extra charges on check out which is a rarity these days. Wi Fi powerful and reliable. Highly recommended. I will be back.
