HAD A WONDERFUL TIME IN THIS LOVELY FAMILY RUN SMALL HOTEL .ROOM WAS GREAT,BREAKFAST WAS A SUBSTANTIAL BUFFET AND PLENTY OF RESTAURANTS NEARBY .POOL WAS FAB ALSO .HOSTS NITSA AND VASILIS ARE VERY HELPFUL .TOTALLY RECOMMEND. 

This hotel punches way above its weight. The welcome is outstanding, and we turned up at nearly 2am! Rooms are basic (we find this to typically be the case on the Greek islands) but exceptionally clean. Staff are friendly and as has been said before, nothing seems to be too much trouble. I find it hard to believe that this is only rated two stars as it is such a great place to stay. 

The pool area is lovely, pool is spotless, tons of tavernas in stumbling distance and plenty of reasonably priced supermarkets around as well. 

We fully understand why they have so many repeat customers and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Lovely family hotel, sparkling pool and very close to beach, shops and tavernas.  Stayed here many times and wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Kos. Lovely breakfasts provided. There are lots of bars close by.

The first evening we arrived and spoke to people they were returning yet again. And I soon realised why what a lovely place to stay! A family run hotel where nothing is too much trouble. They are are such hard working people the hotel is absolutely spotless. You are made to feel like part of the family. If you’re looking for somewhere to come to relax and recharge yourself then this is the place 👍 yards from the sea or a beautiful pool area and plenty of bars and restaurants within minutes. A lovely hotel run by lovely people 🇬🇷

This hotel is a fantastic and family run with integrity, compassion and a fully professional and  excellent service at all time,unfortunately following my recent visit to the hotel I was surprised to find that a number of guests who arrived at the hotel during my stay had booked with Expedia and expected to  have a reservation with the hotel.

Obviously they were extremely disappointed to be told they had no reservation with the hotel and were told allegedly by the Expedia representative in Kos, there was a problem either with no rooms or bathroom facilities at the hotel, in both of these instances both were untrue.

We have been visiting this hotel for the last 17 years and have never had any problems as we deal directly with the owners through their email address hotelkokalakis@yahoo.gr

Fabulous hotel, spotlessly clean and the owners couldn't do enough. A Brilliant location overlooking the bay, close to the beach, shops and restaurants. We would recommend it highly. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the breakfast was great. A really safe place to visit in these times we are in today. It also has a reasonably priced bar and a lovely pool.

Our holiday to Crete was cancelled a week before we were due to go on holiday due to Covid 19 and the quarantine list! Hubby showed me 5 hotels in Kos as that was an alternative place we could visit! I picked this hotel as it stated ‘ sea view and pool view’ and we got exactly what it said! We arrived late in the evening and as soon as we pulled up in our taxi the ambience and atmosphere on the terrace was fantastic to see, everyone was sat having a drink and chatting amongst themselves, following all the government guidelines for Covid 19! The staff at the hotel were so lovely and nothing was too much trouble, breakfast was well organised and fresh each morning, there was only a continental breakfast on offer due to the Covid crisis but still plenty of choice! The pool area was lovely and very clean and the beach was only a 5 minute walk away! We will definitely be returning at some point as the area was so uncommercialised and just typically Greek which we love! Plenty of fantastic restaurants / tavernas  to choose from and the food was fantastic! Highly recommend and we could not fault a single thing 👌

Nitsa and Vasilis, always present and with a good word to say-creating an easy going atmosphere. The location is one of a kind and everything is clean and knit! Highly recommended for any type of vacation, from solo to couples with or without little ones!

Stayed at Kokalakis for a week with my daughter. It was my first visit but it came highly recommended.
Family run hotel that is within a stones throw from the beach. A very well run operation. All staff are warm, friendly and welcoming. 
Rooms are cleaned daily. Equipped with AC, WiFi and Flat screen TV. 
Breakfast was included. 
All served in a safe and C19 friendly way!
All communal areas are maintained to a high standard. 
Two nearby supermarkets that are well stocked and some great beach bars within a minutes walk. 
Look forward to visiting again next year!

What a fantastic family hotel

A well needed break from the Covid madness 2020

First the warning - we made a "guaranteed" reservation for this hotel with hotels.com, when we arrived the owners told us they do not deal with hotels.com, had not got any reservation or any money. They only deal directly with customers or via booking.com and they have had problems before with parts of the Expedia empire - of which hotels.com is part.
Luckily they did have a spare room and we agreed to pay them directly and raise a dispute with hotels.com (who have failed miserably to repond to both myself and the hotel owner) and if required, Amex, the CC I used for the booking - which I have. 

Now to the good part - this is a 2 star family run hotel with very friendly staff.
The bedrooms are small and basic but have a fridge, air con and safe - all free of charge. Wifi is available, also free of charge, throughout the hotel.
Initially our room had 2 singles but when we requested a double mattress, one was quickly provided and it was very comfortable.
An extensive continental breafast is provided, with fruit, hard boiled eggs, toast etc with coffee/tea and juice. 
There is a large swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas on the surroundings. The hotel's bar is nearby and provides a good choice of low cost beers/lagers etc
The only down side, which prevented an excellent rating, is the shower cubicle, which is small and has a clinging curtain. 
In the end we had a very enjoyable 10 days there.

A pleasant surprise .......  but not on arrival !!

Superb. Highly recommended 

Great hotel in a superb location for those who enjoy beach life and good food.  Our room had a great view out to the sea and over the hotel’s swimming pool.  The hotel appeared to be very popular with ‘senior citizens’ when we were staying in September.  Plus, it appears that many couples return here year on year.  In respect of facilities, rooms are a little small leaving no space for a chair, but adequate otherwise.  Rooms are refreshed daily, while sheets and towels are changed frequently.  A kettle with coffee and tea making facilities in the room would have been very welcome.
The hotel is a quiet relaxing place where much attention is given to detail.  Breakfasts are extensive and the family are only too happy to ensure your stay is a pleasant one.

Great Family Run Hotel

After last years great stay at The Kokalakis I was slightly worried the 2nd visit may not live up to the 1st. I needn't have worried. From the moment we arrived we were greeted and made to feel most welcome by the owner (and legend) Nitsa. We had 2 rooms on the 2nd floor. A double, air con, fridge, shower ,a balcony with an amazing sea view and a larger family room with an additional living/single bed area and a balcony with a spectacular panoramic mountain and port view. There's a large pool with plenty of sunbeds, a bar and breakfast area.The owners Nitsa and husband Vasilis (sorry if spelt wrong) live in the hotel and are ever present to attend to the guests. They provide a very friendly service but one that's never over bearing, leaving you to enjoy the type of holiday you want.The hotel is ideally located 30 seconds walk from the beach and a superb independent family run supermarket called Kefalos Market. There are numerous family run, sea front restaurants and bars just a stone's throw away. Kefalos is a quiet resort not ruined by mass tourism or over commercialism. The Kokalakis Hotel is a gem and I can't stress enough how chilled out and friendly it is. Guests returning year after year is further evidence to the quality of this hotel. Already looking forward to stay no.3

Great to return.

A very convenient spot for beach, bus and restaurants. We loved it! Room was spotless, the pool was wonderful - no fighting for sunbeds here!  Our hosts were most helpful and there was a very friendly warm atmosphere around the place - many guests paying a return visit. There are larger hotels around where you could be anywhere in the world but we just loved this family run Greek hotel.
