It is the setting! So close to the beach, just along from a village, with the constant comforting noise of the sea.  The rooms are fine, the restaurant is airy and comfortable, and I see they're working on the pool.  You can do volleyball, laze in the sun, enjoy a coconut harvested and prepared locally, go along and see the amazing fishing craft, like war canoes, or just walk, swim, sit, sleep and be happy.

Read the name - it says it all

We got a free upgrade on arrival to a double room with balcony and sea view. Location is very good, just next to a lovely beach. Beach is public but quiet and locals do not pester you. Miles of lovely, generally clean, beach on either side of the hotel. Hotel was very helpful to arrange affordable trips to Kakum National Park, trips to Cape Coast / Elmina castles and the airport. Balcony sea view was very lovely. The whole place is laid back with very helpful staff, making you feel safe and relaxed. Restaurant food was well prepared and tasty with a good choice.

Facilities are old or not present. Restaurant tables are old, plastic, very basic and dated. No bathroom towels or toiletries, so bring your own! Room beddings not changed. Suite with balcony and sea view felt tight and small for 2 people. Balcony does not have privacy from hotel courtyard area. Beach side chairs are old and not clean. Breakfast was very basic. No restaurants nearby, so you have to take your meals in the hotel, though the dinner menu was good and affordable.

Good location

We stayed at the Beach House for three nights. When you are off the beaten tracks you heaviy depends on the restaurant at the hotel, and the main asset of this place is their food. They have an extensive menu card with lots of different options, including lobster, fish and other seafood. Both traditional Ghanesian dishes and more international food is  served. All very delicious. Rooms are fine we had a first floot room with a small balcony. Internet connection is very poor - and you even have to pay extra to get the access. Main problem is that the fishing village next door play very loud music from early moring till late night, so if you expect a place with quiet and tranquil mood - and where the only sound is the breaking of the waves - you are mistaken. The hotel arrange many different activities including interacting the local village. For people wanting to discover an African village feel this is a good option. Staff is very friendly. Please beware that they only accept cash, which is not very convenient.

Excellent food, but very noisy

We stayed for only one night but had a very nice time there. The hotel is right on the beach which is very nice and clean. It's a quite and calm place in the small Ankwanda village. Food was fantastic, the kitchen is quite unique compared to other tourist restaurants or hotels. Has many vegetarian and vegan options. And the restaurant is at the rooftop terrace with a great ocean view. Rooms were great and the shower even has hot water. The staff was nice and helpful.

A hidden pearl close to Elmina

We stayed here for two nights, and really loved it. Food and service were  fantastic. Staff was so nice and helpful.
View at the ocean  is beautiful. Restaurant is at the rooftop terrace, which we loved.
Rooms , bed and showers were great, also for tall people like myself.
Frank (manager) even took us to watch a football match (on tv) in the small village next to the hotel, very nice experience.
We walked to the Elmina castle from here (along the beach, 6 km), also beautiful. 

Very nice place to stay

This place is something extra. The calm surroundings, the kind people running the place and the delicious food, all at a very fair price.
If I will ever visit Ghana again I will stay for more than a week..

Very nice hotel

I love the fact that is was on the beach.  The host provided everything we needed.  The food was quite amazing, each morning I had fresh watermelon juice.  I enjoyed a peaceful rest each night.  The sound of the water rolling on the beach helped a lot.  I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy a great time while in Ghana.

A wonderful Place to stay.

What a wonderful hotel! It is on the beach front with the most beautiful vistas. The rooms are immaculate and our room had great air conditioning. The staff are so friendly, they treat you like family. 
We did Batik making and the village tour, both were enjoyable.
Th restaurant serves wonderful local food. 
To get to the hotel we caught a taxi from Cape Coast. The road from the highway to the hotel is bumpy but easily done in a standard car.

Wonderful welcoming hotel

The staff were very friendly and anxious to serve and meet our needs. The food was good and rooms adequate for the cost. Eunice who runs the place was available to help make sure everything was done to our satisfaction and comfort. We recommend this location for an affordable and comfortable choice near Elmina.

It is NOT in Elmina, it is about 20+ kms away - part of it on a bumpy road ( and the taxi price is around 20 GHC one way). You have to drive first in the direction of Takoradi, until you reach Atabazi junction and from there it is another 6 - 7 Kms south until you reach the fishing village called Ankwana - that is where it is.
The house itself is nice, the rooms on the upper floor are pleasant and clean (we did not like the cheap rooms for 30usd a night). The staff is amazing, and Solomon - the chief - will take good care of you. They cook nice meals, but the prices are high. Even though they get everything fresh in the village (fish of course, and they grow there pineapples and veges), they still ask for a lot of money. They will do the washing for you, but will charge you extra - again, high prices - for wifi. The beach is just 30 meters away , but is a dangerous place to swim (so we were told). Once you arrive at the place, there is nowhere to go to but stay on the top floor and enjoy the breeze and sound of waves. Up to you.
