Given that this is a budget hotel, we were expecting a basic / dated apartment, but even those expectations were too high! 

We were there with a group.  A number of us had no hot water for the first couple of days because the owner had turned off the hot water heater, even though he knew the apartments were occupied.  Once we pinned him down about the lack of hot water, he finally switched the hot water heater on for the apartments, but ours was still not functional.  It took a further 2 days to get an engineer to fix it and after it was "fixed" it worked for a few hours before it stopped working again. 

The toilet in our apartment leaked so that going in and out of the bathroom meant walking through toilet water.  Towels were placed permanently on the floor to soak up the leak.  No real attempt was meant to fix that

In Cyprus, used toilet paper cannot be thrown in the toilet, but must be placed in the bin beside the toilet.  The owner does not arrange for that bin to be emptied more than once in 4 days.  If there are 4 people sharing the apartment in heat, just imagine how gross that is.

There is air conditioning in the bedroom but not in the living room (which also serves as a bedroom in the apartment is fully occupied).  Not great in Cyprus heat.

Speaking to the owner was a waste of time.  His response was to swear at us for making unreasonable demands!  We ended up leaving the apartments early.  The owner refused to refund the money for the days we did not occupy the property even though we gave him more than 48 hours notice.

These were just the problems we experienced in our own apartment.  Other members of the Group also had problems, including some that related to safety.  The owner has clearly spent no real money on the upkeep of the property and it shows.  

Seriously, just stay somewhere else.
