Ocean Rose Bed & Breakfast

This B&B has a good location near the water but the owner is very business-like- even for these Covid days. He was quite abrupt with my husband when explaining how the door locks and unlocks. We were tired from a long drive and were trying to understand his explanation. I think that if an owner is that afraid of being near another human being at this time, a B&B is not the thing to do. The interior was very dated and smelled old. There was no coffee maker in the room, only a form of instant coffee with a plug in kettle. The owner did not communicate with us whatsoever once we had checked in- not even to say goodbye.....the rooms were very hot- no A.C.

I had a very enjoyable week at the Ocean Rose Bed and Breakfast. David and Marilyn are fantastic hosts and the conversations during Breakfast was something I looked forward to and will miss. I definitely recommend this Bed and Breakfast. The location is stunning as well. I look forward to staying here next time I visit Vancouver.

Wonderful Stay with Wonderful Hosts

We - that is my partner & son stayed for five nights in this very clean, comfortable, 2 bed apartment on the lower level of the owner's south-facing home. Guests have their own entrance & the apartment is fully independent. The house sits on a steep-sloping hillside facing the sea from which it is separated by only a few stairs & a single road. Dave, the owner, provided us with a variety of excellent breakfasts every morning in his own quarters. There is good parking for a single vehicle. If you're visiting Vancouver or any of the lower Fraser valley communities and you don't mind a bit of driving, I can't recommend a better place to wake up in or relax at the end of the day. A beautiful, quiet, peaceful area with all amenities close at hand & a thoughtful & attentive host. All in all, a great experience.  Can't recommend more highly.

Comfortable & welcoming place to stay

We've been coming to the Ocean Rose Bed and Breakfast for a decade now and absolutely love it. Wifi, free parking and close access to the west end of the White Rock walkway and beach are just three of the attractions. Private entrance, TV and separate bedroom for children are also important. But it's the hearty breakfasts and always engaging conversations with the hosts that make Ocean Rose so enjoyable.

Can't beat it

The B&B consists of one basement apartment under the owner’s primary residence. It has its own entrance and a few windows to brighten it. The decor is kitschy and fairly cluttered, but it’s clean, the shower was excellent, and all conveniences were laid on very generously, including snacks. Lovely views! There’s a large main room with a bed and a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a second bedroom with twins, so lots of room for a family to spread out. This is an old-fashioned, typical British-style B&B in which you will interact some with the friendly, welcoming proprietors so it’s a terrific choice for other outgoing, friendly people who enjoy getting to know others. The breakfast was lovely and was presented so creatively and thoughtfully! The breakfast area is upstairs in the owner’s own kitchen. Need to know: White Rock is undergoing extreme construction all over town. As of June 2018 there is demolition and new house construction going on on both sides of the B&B property, literally feet away from the door of the flat. It was jarring and very noisy starting early in the morning (7:45am) and lasting until early evening. It’s a temporary annoyance and is not in control of the proprietors obviously, but is something you should be aware of and investigate before booking if construction noise bothers you. 

Clean, roomy accommodation! 

The accommodation is on the slope of White Rock. From the property you can check in early morning, get a wonderful view of the sea. The accommodation is lived by its two hosts. David and Marilyn take super hearted care of their guests. Right after booking, we were asked about breakfast preferences and allergies. The two of us tried to take all this into account. We could check in early morning, get fresh strawberries to greet and the personalized menu cards for breakfast. The accommodation is really neatly arranged. We know the collective appreciation of the owners.

Your accommodation with great views

Always something peaceful about looking out to a large expanse of water.....Ocean Rose B&B has that !  Lovely lay out with lots of space.  Nice amenities.  Very personal touch and a delight to stay there.  The hosts are wonderful and full of good tips.  The breakfast was delicious and you can select from their offerings as well as pick a time.  They are sincere and sweet folks that love what they do and are quite hospitable.  We wish we could have stayed longer !!  Lovely little town and lots to explore

Cozy and Comfy with good view

Very good hospitality. We arrived before check in, however they let us leave our bags while we ventured up north to Vancouver for the day. Free parking and free breakfast a major plus. It’s only a 5-10 minute walk to the main drag of White Rock. Offers a good view from the room. Also, it is a great value for money. I would definitely recommend this place! 

Great B & B

We were in this great B&B at the end of our trip to Canada and we couldn't have ended better. Marylin and Dave were extremely polite and kind. The paper breakfast was great and abundant. They booked us not just a room but a very spacious mini apartment with a beautiful view of the ocean to the U.S. border. They entertained us with pleasant conversations, so they were great guests. We recommend that anyone who should pass through those parts stop by them.
