Nice location, access to the Sports Centre, Tim Horton and the bistro between 7 and 9am. One week to receive the booking confirmation (I had to reset twice), poor reception (lack of useful information on arrival e.g. shared kitchen location and community room in the basement, which led to the theft of our ice cream with the contents), neglected household maintenance (bathroom not fully cleaned on arrival), lack of blankets.

Accommodation at Bishop's University

I stayed in the Kuehner building for 2 nights. The single room was $60 per night and was clean and at a good temperature, considering the weather outside was very hot & muggy. The single room adjoined to the next room over by a small toilet/shower room. There was a private sink in each room. There was no fridge, but they would bring one in for a flat fee of $25. I was also informed that there was a full kitchen in the basement that I could use, so I didn’t bother. Unfortunately, there were no dishes or utensils at all in the kitchen. 

As previously mentioned, the hot water from the taps and in the shower was VERY hot.

There were enough electrical outlets, and even 2 USB-charging outlets built into the wall.  Laundry was available for $1.50 per wash or dry. 

All in all, a lovely place to be for 2 nights.  I would definitely stay at Bishop’s again if I’m ever back in the area (I stayed at the other university in town for 1 night, which was 1 night too many).

Excellent little room for a great price

You want to study at Bishops University and you don’t know if you should go in residences? Well, let me help you with that. You MUST! It’s one hell of an experience, you make tons of valuable friends and you will live the true university life of a small campus university. Thank me later. Also great to party <— 

Best year of my life

Hard to find check-in desk. Check-in time is up to 23:30pm, not midnight.

The scenery is very pleasant, the campus is human-sized, traffic is easily accessible on foot, the cafeteria is efficient, the menus are good and the service is fast.

Four days in Bishop.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality, cleanliness and location of the Bishop's University residences. As a walking mission in the Eastern Canton, we especially wanted a place to rest after our 15 km hike in the mountains and before taking the road again, and we were charmed. The places are very clean, very safe. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was impeccable and the hot water stayed there for a long time... only to be happy! A few restaurants nearby to sustain us. Not to mention, it was the perfect place at the perfect time.

Great accommodation at a great price!

Room was great.  Staff very helpful.  Frankly, I was looking for something less expensive, more like hostel rates.  But I can see where it's a good alternative for people with more money but still do not want to pay hotel rates.

Would like to see even less costly alternative.

The Bishops Music department presented "Dutch" at the Turner Studio Theater.  This is an intimate theater seating roughly 150 people.  The caliber of performance was excellent with the thespians comprised of students and staff.  The play Dutch, created from the book "On the Road With Dutch Mason", was a very cleverly done depiction of life on the road for Dutch Mason and his band.  It covered Dutch's career from his late teens up to the 2000.  The week following the show at the Turner theater it was to be presented at the Pigery--another great theater venue in the Townships.

Great Live Entertainment and a Bargain

We were all pleasantly surprised with the accommodations at Bishops University for our daughter's graduation. Our family of four stayed in room 134 in the Abbott building which was renovated within the last year.  It is a 2 bedroom apartment; one bedroom has two twin beds and the other bedroom a double bed.  In the middle of the apartment is the kitchen dining room and living room.   I would recommend this apartment to any student or family who is celebrating a graduation.

Daughters Graduation

Thank you BU for offering us a forever home and a forever family. Love the buildings and their modern and historical twist that they bring to the campus environment. Everyone is just so sweet. There is a big sense of community and the campus is close to everything you need, from gym, to swimming pool, to a camp during the summer, etc.
