I was really impressed with this hostel which was clean and included a good breakfast. We were greeted by Edward who spoke excellent English and was incredibly helpful. We arrived late at night and asked about options for getting to the airport the following morning. Edward gave us information about taxis and another option involving 2 buses. When we woke the following morning he told us that he had done some research for us during the night and had found a direct bus option from near the hostel. We really appreciated his efforts.

Great value, helpful staff

We only spent one night there really top, the staff is so nice!! Devoted nice smiling! Cheap clean warm water but we recommend it for those who pay attention to their budget quality price report at the top! we will return to it without any worries:)

We arrived at 1 am with no reservation and were warmly welcomed. They made us a discount on the matrimonial room as the dorms were full. The next day we asked to be moved to the dorms which were nice (only 2 lockers for a 6 beds dorm though.) Only one guy from the staff speaks English and he wasn't always there. The others don't speak english nor spanish so it's super hard to communicate. We sometimes felt like we were disturbing the family that lives there, we could'nt use the kitchen when we wanted like we had to wait for them to be done cooking and eating. On our last day there we had to catch an early plane so we asked for an early breakfast (5 am is not that early) which they simply refused. Wifi is good. Hot water is not hot enough. Breakfast is fine too (chocolate cake, cheese, ham, bread etc.)

Good for the price

I seriously can't understand why or even how there can be ANY negative reviews about this place?! Cleanest, most friendly hostel we've stayed at in almost 8 months of hostel staying!! Seriously, read past the whining peeps before and stay at this hostel! Great breakfast and more than accommodating staff! Loved the common areas as for they were all weather friendly with beautiful landscaping. We took a chance on this place after reading the reviews due to economic pricing and were blown away when we arrived!! Hostel deserves better!!

I arrived early and asked if I could leave my stuff until I could check in, but they said I had to pay for half a day, if I wanted to do so. Then they showed me to one room, where none of the beds were made, but since I came early I understood that, so I was shown to another room. I was then asked to go pay, and it was more expensive than the reservation I had made (not including the extra half-day). But since the lady didn't speak English, I couldn't explain it to her.
Later at night, when I was trying to sleep, first one from the staff entered and quickly left as he saw I was nearly sleeping, but only a few minutes later, the woman comes in, starts loudly speaking in Portuguese to me, while arranging, but not really arranging the beds. She didn't change sheets, and I had seen people leaving the room earlier, just straightened them out.
Also, there were rarely anyone in the reception, so I let myself out occasionally. Generally not a very good place, with ants everywhere in the kitchen. I know ants can't be avoided, however, this amount can.

Decent for the price but I would not go back. 
Free water dispenser (very much appreciated in this terribly hot place).
Card machine not working (probably on purpose. Not very clean. Every thing is old and a but messy. Not close to anything in town. Not bad but not goid enough... 

Not the best choice...

It's a nice place, a cozy atmosphere. The ideal for young people who are taking a stroll with a low budget. La Dueña personally caters to them and helps them find the best options in the city to meet. Personally, I had a good experience as the language made it a little difficult for us to communicate. She takes us to the terminal to buy our tickets so we can visit a farm. We also visited the National Park with people from the Hostel. We were at carnival time and were also taken to see the parades. No doubt we were treated like nowhere else. I'd come back many times since it's been a meeting with such beautiful people. The design is varied and there are many places near the hotel to eat and shop.

You're treated like you're at home.

We took this hostel to use as a base to the border with Bolivia and as we were tired we decided to pay for a double room without a private bathroom. The room really wasn't pretty, he pointed out, it had air since it was very hot in Campo Grande, but the TV was very poorly located, the window was to an interior room and the bathroom was glued to the bedside so you could hear everything they were doing when they went to the bathroom. The cleaning also left quite a lot to be desired, under the bed you could find anything. The breakfast was plentiful and the attention from the staff was very good. A very important detail is that we could bathe with hot water. And to keep you wanting in a more relaxed way, the hostel offers you from cheap restaurants to the border, to a service that you could never get to the border, to a bar and a cruise service to Bolivia.

Hostel is uncomfortable.

I only stayed two nights in this small hostel, but the reception is wonderful and the staff is charming, warm and always ready to help. The room was clean, with hot water and private bathroom. Very good price ratio. If like me you are just passing through Campo Grande, feel free to choose this place!

One night, before we left for Rio, I took a separate room... breakfast is not so varied, but it's good to have it.)
