Centro Ecoturístico "El Poncho" (Quillacollo - Cochabamba)

We spent the day at El Poncho for 90 BS each. We had the best vegan lunch of our trip at this amazing place. Hernan and his staff were very nice, attending all our needs. The Sauna session was amazing, the perfect treat for ourselves to end our Bolivian adventures. 

We took a micro-bus (colectivo) to Quillacollo and got off at Plaza Bolivar, then we took a taxi (I forgot the name of the company but Hernan will tell you) and for 30Bs took us to El Poncho. It was a wonderful day.

It is difficult to find a more beautiful setting for a few days than this place. It was like being in a Hobbit town, only in the Andes. It is like time vanishes there. I felt a good spiritual connection with the place and the people there. I can surely recommend this beautiful and well hidden resort.
The staff was very friendly and the food was also great.

El poncho is a place where, as well as to rest and have an amazing time in the middle of the nature, you can find yourself and spend a lot of time for the meditation. All the structure was thought to allow to the customers to have the possibility to be in contact with the southamerican tradition, the cult of the "madre tierra" and the elements of the hearth. Every single house is different, and you can have a different experience inside of them.
The food, the people, the nature, are simply perfect. This is the best place indeed for to feel into your veins the real taste of Bolivia.

I stayed in El Poncho with five friends. It was the best hostel we've stayed at in south America. It is the most beautiful location at the base of huge mountains in Cochabamba, and our time there was so relaxing and refreshing. Each day Daniel, the owner, would ask us what we'd like/like to do - have some beers, play some football/volleyball against the staff, have a natural spa, hang out by the pool, have a bonfire in the evening etc etc. And he'd go and sort it out for us. He even some guitar and sung us some of his songs around the fire one night - was awesome!

If you want to stay in a beautiful, natural location, eat amazing food an hang out with some refreshingly good people, go to El Poncho.
